It looks to me like you're putting the black on a bit too heavily. After the primer the first coat of black should be just a mist with about 75% primer still showing. Keep misting on layers until all the primer is covered. Normally takes me about 6 layers.

And how many coats of black did you do? Did the primer go spotty too?

I bolted it through the base and added nuts to the ends inside the cartridge. Exactly the same way as the female V-hook is attached to the gun base/track.

When using my own cast parts I give everything a good wash and prime with halfords grey before the halfords satin black. I don't sand the parts and never have the "oily" spots issue. Are you trying to paint the black coat in one go?

The screen used rear grips wer pop riveted to the handle and the front was held in place by bolts through the lock block and front ear. You could pop rivet the front too and counter sink them so you can putty over the heads to make them invisible.

Not had much thought on gun electronics TBH, think I'm just gunna go real simple (only one light needs to flash, the rest are static). Ok few more bits done on the gun, added the dry rubs and gave them a light weathering. Also got the wood dowel inserted into the handle so the loom could be attached...

Looking great! My advice for the ion arm is to cut a block of wood that fits snuggly inside the arm and bolt this to the shell, then epoxy glue the ion arm to the wood block. Add some counter sunk screws for added support if needed.

All holes on the Murray were plugged/covered when it was moulded to make the semi-heroes. You can also see the square on the ion arm under the PH25 where they put tape on to cover the whole. nick are you referring to the hero in the pictures or the semi heros have a square? Both. They put a square ...

Thanks for all there input guys. Ive decided to make the gun "Just after filming" which means it'll have some of the traits seen in Sean's photos without the melted front and missing tube etc. Here's how she's looking after a lick of paint and a few grebes added. Still needs weathering etc...

Wow that pack turned out great! That black finish looks amazing! One small gripe though...lose the brass nut on the PH25 resistor, no packs had those.

My advice would be to add that gun plate on the inside of the gun box then, that way it adds the support like the pack plate does but is out of view.

Hi jason! Just letting you know the gun track V hook isn't meant to have that plate under it, that plate i believe is to go inside the shell to support the male section of the hook.

Also different packs had different coloured tube under the beam line loom, all depends which pack you're replicating :)
