good plan Rob. see not all is lost. also you'll have the solid resin pull to use incase you need to make a whole new mold. save haing to make a new buck from scatch again :)

arghh thats sucks Rob. cant the support shell be repaired at all? and how bad is the tear in the silicone? would it really effect the pulls too much?

also have you kept the parts from the master? could they be re-built? would save alot of work if they could.

thankyou David. the paint im using is black vallejo spray primer. its not the cheapest of paints but does give a VERY even, matt finish that can be semi polished to give a worn look. im following stefans plans. me selling packs is a long way off right now, im just getting into the casting and sellin...

i always hate seeing peoples bucks get trashed during the de-mold process :( but im sure its going to b well worth it. cant wait to see how the shells turn out Rob :)

with the 2nd trap im going to try and hollow cast the battery pack and front block so electronis can be installed.

ahhhh i see now. i thought it might have been a plate fitted flat against the pack. makes full sense now, thankyou Luke :)

just read on proptopia that there is a recently discovered plate behind the ribbon cable. does anyone have a photo of this or could provide more info?

the styrene sheets im using are about 4mm thick so to make the ribs i just cut strips from the sheets and glue them to the main box shapes. then i just give them a sanding to take away the sharp edges :)

thankyou everyone! the weathering is only a sort of example right now, im going to study the screen used packs once ive finished construction and try and simulate the kind of look they have. fuller's earth on standby :)

looking really good! i love how beat up and used it looks. also i love all the little differences to the screen used packs youve done, makes it look like a slightly updated version :D

norms plans are great for a 1st time builder. may i offer a suggest building your pack from foam board. it will be fast to work with so you can have your pack ready for halloween. see this thread to see PBAlpha using this method....

looking great so far! looks exactly like my ion arm when i started to build mine (which was also the part i built first!!) you will learn and refine alot of techniques as you work through but looks to me like your off to a great start! as for the weld lines i think alot of folks use epoxy putty roll...

yeah i think Andy is right, i think the lid bottom is supposed to go inside the gunbox, not ontop.
