If I had any idea on how to operate a Wiki page I'd chip in, but...I don't, and I don't want to ruin anything that you guys have already done.

So I'm here, cheering you all on! Honest!

It is pretty easy.

You click edit. You write some stuff. You submit it.

If its not right, you can hit undo, or someone else can.

At this point its mainly just about getting as much stuff down as we can and then edit it later.

Great progress is being made by Drjameshouse, ‎69428scj, Devilmanozzy and Josh Foote... but we still have a LONG ways to go.

We're looking for experts. If you consider yourself to be an expert in a particular field of Ghostbusters... Proton Pack, Ecto, Ghostbusters 2, Games, Comics.. etc.

I want to hear from you! We need people to start taking charge of sections of the Wiki and getting it done.

I would like to have the whole system integrated into the site by the start of 2013!

On the left side, there is the box titled "toolbox".

Click Upload file.

Click Choose file in the Source File box.

Type in a descriptive file name in the Destination filename: (Be sure to keep the .jpg or whatever the file is at the end.)

Type in a description in the Summary box. (Please be as descriptive as possible. Like: Ghostbusters RPG International, Page 12)

Then click Upload file and you're done!

Do a little at a time till you feel comfortable with it. Once you get the hang of it, it's really easy! Tedious but easy.

Just an FYI for everyone, the descriptions I am using for the Kenner Toys are straight from the Kenner Catalogs and the backs of the figures themselves. This is as close to being "fact" and "unbiased" as possible with these toys. Just throwing it out there before someone edits them. In my opinion, we should want this to be as much "fact" as possible. It's THE dictionary for Ghostbusters after all!

I'm happy to see a lot of work was done over the holidays by ‎The Big Guy, Devilmanozzy, Proton Charger, and Josh Foote.

Unfortunately very little has been done on the wiki in the past week. Lets change that!

One update I can provide is that I have begun to review pages, and forward the old pages to the new. The pages will now be under the scrutiny of everyone, so lets make them the best that they can be!

I've been in and out of work since thanksgiving and sometimes I remember to update it and haven't been working on anything to research. Generally the updates I made are when I'm researching something for myself and create a page which spirals out of control to other pages because it's all connected.

The wiki's helped me out quite a bit, and I'm hoping my additions to imported information helps others. I just wish I was more wiki code savvy. If it was bbcode id be set. Figuring out wiki coding takes up a lot of my time, because I don't want to leave a whole lot of work for the next person that comes by.

I tend to just copy/paste code from a Wiki page that I think looks good and then change all of the specifics to match the content of the page I'm working on. No need to learn much coding per se if you go that route, and it gives a good foundation for anyone to come and make any modifications for improvement as time goes on.

These pages typically still have screenshots waiting to be moved over. When uploading them, please use the format of: Episode Name Gallery Image Number.jpg (Ex: Sea Fright Gallery 2.jpg). This will ensure ease of use later on when searching and editing pages.

Insert the images into the new page on the new wiki using the Gallery tags. (Just click the gallery button when editing, and the code will be started for you!)

Once they are done, the pages will be redirected to the new Wiki.

I probably shouldn't be doing as much work as I am doing right now on this.... but I just uploaded over 2000 files from the existing site. Still have a thousand or so to go.

Check out some of these pages. A lot of them are still missing the polish and attention to detail. If you guys could check them out, add some text to the pages... that would be great. Important details like what these are, who wrote them.. where did they come from.. what are they for... etc.

Seriously guys? Is no one going to chip in and help with this new Wiki? This is our site, this is our wiki, it will be used by tens of thousands of visitors every year. Why am I the only one (apparently) doing any work?

I thank you for your work so far, but lets get moving! I've done 98% of the edits in the last 30 days. Last night I just doubled the Wiki in size, and it only took an hour or two plus a lot of determination. Consider taking an hour out of your week and just find something to update. There is still plenty to do:

Real Ghostbusters Episode Pages need Infobox content filled in. Stuff like the Writer of the episode, airdates, and what episodes precede it and come next. Other stuff like which characters were in the epsiode, trivia, synopsis, full plot summaries.. etc. And that's just one section.

There are still basically ALL the prop sections, many of the GB, GB2 and Extreme Ghostbusters sections have yet to be done. Games, Publications.. etc.

Come on people! I can't do this whole thing on my own!

I still plan on helping with moving the old database information on "Slimer and the Real Ghostbusters" episodes over to the wiki. I plan on finishing what I started there if it matters at all.
