Recently I've been trying to spend more time on the forum and get acquainted with the Ecto and various Caddies that have been converted. I would love nothing more than to own a '59 hearse. Even outside of the Ecto-1, I have always loved that particular car. If I got one, I don't know that I would turn it into an Ecto. I would most likely keep it original.

All of this said, I spent some time getting more involved in some other hearse communities. Boy, they do not have nice things to say about Ecto conversions. Especially the NHAA. I don't understand. If someone buys a car, especially one that is rusting into the ground or has an appointment with a scrap facility... isn't it better to make something out of it?

Why would you wish gonorrhea on someone saving such a rare car?
