I tell you this since you're one of the people who I can tell this to without you flipping out and calling me an elitist: The green gun hose you have there is not the right color yet unfortunately it seems to be what is most widely used in the community the tubing you want is the same stuff that is on your lever for the extending tip. You can get it in the GBFans Shopdun dun DUNNNN! the accuracy nazi strikes again!

I can't speak for anyone else, and I'm not trying to kiss your ass Kind, but people like you are the reason that I'm here. This will probably be the only chance I get to build a pack so it's good to get tips on how to make my pack better (like a booster frame.......). No worries man.

And don't worry about me whining or getting defensive or anything, because you're some sort of walking accuracy encyclopedia and I value your opinion. Why would I flip out and dismiss your advice? On the contrary, I thank you for it. Consider that green tubing bought. Speaking of which, any idea on what length it should have? I'm guestimating 6" or so.

I'm still using the same hoses from the freebie box clippard sent me years ago. They might be a bit on the translucent side but its ok. Its still clippard part. I reused everything from my old pack.
Lets just say that my old pack, pictured in the gallery section, doesn't exist anymore... Well, the shell still does, but that's about it ^_^
Oh and yeah, the plain gun box is pretty light, but once everything is attached, it becomes something awesome.

OK! No more Nycoil hoses for the gun, only Clippard hoses. Oh and Chris: it also becomes something awesome when it's painted. Case in point: Holy crap I love that thrower. More to come!

It won't be long, believe me. Paint is done, dry transfers are done, some parts have been installed. I'll post pictures later. I'm only missing a few parts (Arcolectric caps, trigger box, rear instrument bar, and that darn green tube ) so in a little while my thrower will be exactly like my pack: stuck at 90% completion waiting for the last components to arrive.

Tutorial time! I've installed the other end of the split loom on my gun's handle, and I thought that I finish my tutorial. Like the first time, this is entirely reversible, so you can remove the loom at will. Also, it's pretty much specific to metal handles, but can be adapted to PVC handles with minimal effort. So here goes! First thing first, trim your loom to the desired length. Personally I went with 3 1/2 feet. Then trim your clear tubing to be 6 inches longer (or whichever is necessary to go in the gun box) You should end up with something like this: PVC tubing 6" longer than the loom. Zip tie optional. To attach the loom, you need one long bolt, one that's almost as long as the ID of your handle. I chose a 8/32" cap screw. Then you measure the hole and tap it. Mine is 1 1/8" from the end of the handle, centered onthe bottom (where the grip will be) Next you drill a big hole (mine is 7/32") in the clear hose. You drill it around where the end of the loom should be. Mine is around 5 3/4" from the end of the hose. Then you insert the clear tubing in the handle, and align the two holes. It's easier than it sounds. Now you screw the bolt all the way, making sure that it clears the hole in the tube. If your hose isn't split down the side like mine, you can even drill two holes! It'll be even tougher. Don't forget to dig a little hole for the screw's head in the grip. The screw will be hidden by the grip. The hole in the grip is 1" from its end (that's why I drilled the hole 1 1/8" earlier; so that my grip would be 1/8" from the end of the handle) Voilà! Your split loom is solidly attached to your thrower. My loom goes just a little in the handle, just like the screen-used packs in a lot of screen shots. Of course you can adjust it to your liking. That's it for now!

Nice work! Just wondering if that screw will interfere with running any wiring for lights and such?

I was just wondering (if you don't mind me asking) how much all of these parts for the pack and gun cost in total?

Time for a big update! Something really, really scary happened to me last night, as I was finishing the assembly. I dry-fitted the inner tube from Umori's front handle in the gun knob that's welded to my gun box. Satisfied with the results (I was trying to mark a couple of holes for drilling) I tried to take it out... But couldn't. To my horror I found out that it was stuck, and stuck good. I mean, JB Weld wouldn't be tougher. Turns out that the inner tube is really, really hard to get out of the gun knob when the handle isn't there (you don't have any leverage, you see) For a while I really thought that I had scrapped my hero thrower. I finally got it out with a vise-grip and a lot of WD-40, but it was a scary hour right there. All's well that ends well, because I completed the assembly of my thrower (well completed with everything that I have) and here's the results. I know that I'm still missing some things, but I couldn't help myself. I'll take pictures outside when it's really complete, I promise. In the meantime, enjoy! That's it for now! Stay tuned!

Thanks man! That's all real, by the way. The thrower weathered itself quite a bit while I was fighting with it last night. Like I always say: accidental weathering is the most realistic!

This really makes me want a metal thrower. I want my pack to be heavy duty. Great work by the way.

That tube got stuck on me one time when I was trying it on after the weld. It seems the heat changed the diameters just a hair. I sanded the handle piece until it wouldn't stick again but, it seems that if you tighten the screws on there, it will change it around just enough for it to stick again.. I guess it needed a bit more sanding.

Can I just make one teeny tiny suggestion? I'd take the washers off from under the nuts on the toggle switches. Doing so will bump up the accuracy a notch.

There isn't any on the gun? Thanks for the suggestion. Frankly, I didn't know what to do with them; obviously there isn't any electronics in there, and I installed some switches temporarly to fill the holes. But whatever I do, I'll make sure to loose the washers.

No washers im afraid, just the nuts... Ive added washers to a gun build before and I feel they make the switches look oversized. But man that's the only nit-pick about your build, the rest is perfect!!

Perfect. Thanks a lot, man. And I don't consider this nitpicking: like I said to Kind earlier, advice like this is what makes my pack the best pack possible. When I'm showing it to you guys I'm counting on you to let me know what I missed!
