I have the proptronix set up and I was wonder has anyone ever desoldered the pot on the board to wire to one that could fit outside of the pack like the crank knob?

I did that with mine, though I have the Jupiter kit. It's a pretty simple modification if you're keen with a soldering iron. It's nice to have the crank knob do something functional.

Did you use a 5k pot to replace the mini?

I was going to , but then decided not to, as jokers mess with the knob all the time, didnt need my amp accidently all the way up.... Super loud

It's either a 5K or a 10K, yeah. I used to have it wired up to my volume control, but I wanted better access to that when I had the pack on, so that's just part of my motherboard now.
