Whoah Son, this shit just got real!

First off, the ribbon cable mod, as done here:

The only difference is I glued the rolled ribbon down as pulling on it quite hard made it come loose.





Next, the battery door!!

Here we have a V-hook from Tyger Cheex and an aluminium battery cover from someone who's not a member on these boards anymore.


Countersunk slotted machine screw from local DIY store (B&Q)


Measuring the cover and marking the screws.



Screws cut with a hacksaw.


Battery cover drilled and painted black


Metal expoxy glue for added security (from B&Q)


Smeared on the reverse side and into drilled holes.



Once set, filed flat.


A little wonky but that's what you get with doing things by eye and by hand


And presto!

That's a nice mod! But just wanted to ask, is the hook upside down?

Sorry, just realised! I was thinking the part on the battery cover was the male connection.

can the matty trap be upgraded with real parts from the gbf store?
or is it all molded? ... in other words wont come off

It's all pretty much molded in together. It would need delicate work that maybe the skilled proppers here could handle but I'm not going to mess about with it!
