| alkaline | wrote: Hello Everybody,
Whelp, that about wraps it up. Its been a loooong road but Im finally at the end! I just want to take a minute and thank everybody that has purchased a shell or has said nice things about them. It means a lot. I will most likely make shells in the future but they will be a lot more limited ( to help keep my sanity). So really thanks again and I'll be back around come September or so.
Now as far as seconds go. I currently have 8 of them. I decided that $55 shipped (international will be adjusted accordingly) was fair enough ( $30.00 shipping and $25.00 for the shell) because they will need some work. I have a few spoken for already so I will give an exact number left when I know for sure. The only thing I ask is please do not ask for one if you are not comfortable with resins, fiberglass, bondo, fillers or the like. I don't want to be MF'ed via PM because you bit off more than you can chew. There will be no guarantee with these other than your getting a shell ( and packing peanuts.....also a box and tape...and a label....yea, a label too). I know I've been saying this but I WILL post pictures of each one ( with a nickname for identifying them) Starting today. They will be first come first serve. Thanks again !

Hey Everyone,
Well, its starting to get close to that time of the year again ! I'm currently working on a new plug/ mold for a fall shell run. This is an entirely new mold built from scratch. Unlike the previous shell, there will be a few alterations to make it more screen accurate this time around. I will post pictures here and there to show progress.
After doing a lot of these over the past year, I've come up with a few different solutions to help make the end product a little nicer as well as easier to work with. My goal is to get people on the fall list their shell in enough time to have it ready for Halloween. So with that in mind the run will be limited.
In the next few days I will start to create an Interested list to try and get an idea of supplies needed. I haven't figured out a final cost yet but it will vary slightly from previous runs. I will be adding a few extra steps this go around (which is reason for the increase in price/ materials) but in the end it will be worth it. I'm shooting for a cost of under $300.00 shipped (1shell + flat rate shipping), which I think is possible. I will have a definite cost this week/ early next week. Thanks everyone !

ps: I wanted to do a little unofficial poll. Those of you looking to buy or have bought from me in the past; Would you like the new shell to still be able to fit the MMM motherboard? Or, would you like it to fit another option. Any thoughts or comments are welcome,

Well I personally like that your shells fit the MMM motherboard. I would def keep that as an option. Seeing as how I just bought a shell in the last run, what kind of changes are you planning on making to the new shell? Also does the pre-production phase of shells mean that the bumper, gun kits, etc will be postponed yet again? | alkaline | wrote: Hey Everyone,

Changes will include crank gen ribs NOT folding under the crank gen (popular demand haha), eda disks resized, Cyclotron holes resized, and N-filter resized to name a few. Also, after sanding and prepping on of these shells I realized the initial coat of resin is a real pain to sand smooth so I will be doing a different first coat to help make things easier to finish.
As for resin parts, NO they will not be delayed again. I am building everything out of styrene at the same time so I should have a Shell, Bumper, HGA, Ion Arm, and maybe some others ( ladder frame?) ready to go at the same time.

John I just finished like 3 weekends worth of bondo + sanding to make these same changes to one of your shells! Dammit. Ah well, I'm having a great time doing it! What's up with the cyclotron hole sizes? Maybe you shouldn't tell me... if I know, I'll have to get out the dremel. One thing that would be kind of nice is a little recess in the back of the cyclotron to fit lenses. If you're careful with how that works, the same indent could fit both round or square lenses. Might be kinda neat. Glad to see you're continuing to improve your product! Can't wait for the other resin parts.

Hey that's a good idea for the cyclotron ! I could put a little flange inside the hole to keep the lens from falling in. I don't think Id be able to do it from the back in the mold though .

I'd love a bumper..hopefully one that won't take four weeks to arrive and can be shipped rather fast.
Keep us updated!

Hey Alkaline....If you're still alive over there, thinking of putting in an order for another shell. I decided to ditch the first poorly constructed vacumme formed shell that I hastily threw together....and since this one is turning out so nice...decided to build a second one for display and as a backup .. Keep us updated
