I won't be able to make it to Mattypolooza this year like I have for the past couple years. Hopefully someone else can take up that duty and fill us all in.

Matty hired Video Bob to give them exclusive rights to use his superb skills in proton pack building for their elite proton packs... he's had their secret in tapping into the audio port on the bottom of their Matty wand handle for months now, and they will make the official announcement tomorrow at SDCC... ;)

I don't think you're gonna win that bet. The Proton Pack question keeps coming up on the Matty site and the answer seems to be the same each time.

Hi all. I was wondering when the proton pack will ever be released. Paying 2000 bucks for a knock off pack on ebay seems dumb. Oh and 900 bucks for used traps on there. I'm thinking it's time for a reissue. Fans are being ripped off left and right on the traps. Cleary the demand is there.

We defiantly don't have plans for one this year but we are hoping perhapes in a movie year things will align. We definitely can't commit that their will be one. But we would love to investigate making one if the right situation arose (ie a new film year)"

My guess is they will announce the date they will start selling the Removable Pack Figures. If we're extremely lucky, they might have a small prop, like a Belt Gizmo or something, as a surprise announcement...but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it. And no, I don't have any inside info. The Belt Gizmo thing is just a guess.

Maybe they'll give us Vince Clortho's popcporn bowl! Or Dr Venkman's thorazine needle!
What collection would be complete without those?

Preview Night Reveals from Matty News - Last paragraph.

"Also shown on Wednesday night were package reveals (bios!) for MOTUC Eldor™, Sweet Bee®, Rio Blast™, Madam Razz™ & Broom, Entrapta™ and Double Mischief™. We also showed packages for the new Ghostbusters™ 2-Packs, DC Universe Total Heroes™ Batman™ Beyond, DCU Damian Wayne, and the new wall-mounted display stands."

No mention of a prop this time around.

SO: This is super unusual - I made a post about a month and a half ago on the Matty Forums regarding the Pack - if it was ever coming. The response was a flat out NO, because there wasn't enough demand for the wands, and it was explained to me that if demand improves, they'll look into it.

That post has been completely deleted. Very strange.

They did show off the new removable pack guys again today. Toy Ark has photos up. I know it's nitpicky but man I hate it when they set up the figures and have them holding the wands with one hand and the hose with the other. I realize that maybe non-GB fans set these things up but it's not too difficult to see that the wand has two grips on it for hands. They seem to do this at every show. I even had some figures that are boxed that way. Ok...I'll quit whining now. It is Matty so I shouldn't have my standards set so high. :)

Haha! Yea Slimer's looking buff.

So they didn't say if they were six inch figures like the movie figures or anything? I bought all the retro RGB's but I'm not a huge fan of that style personally. It would be cool to see six inch figures though. Hopefully they'll be like an updated version of the old school toys.
