Hey! I liked GB2! And a GB3 would not "destroy" Ghostbusters, have some faith in the people putting it together. Aykroyd and Ramis are good writers if they ever decided to do a GB3 then I'm sure the script, plot, and everything else would be awesome.

HAHAH Ecto Clean!!!!

Anyway, well the big announcement wasnt gbIII.

Still, it might destroy Ghostbusters if we get a 3rd.

Anywhoo, where can i get some of that Glorious Ecto Clean,
I have a bath that still has those awfull slime stains on it!

A gb3 couldn't be any worse than GB2.

Agreed. If GB2 had been great, or if they had never made it and were talking about sequelizing it now I'd say stay away. But as it stands now, we have nothing to lose.

Not really fair to slam GB2...

As a sequel it comes out better than a lot of them, and despite fan opinion, it set a box-office record on it's premiere (broken a week later by Batman). They guys didn't give any lackluster performances and the effects and comedy were just as great and amazing as it's predecessor (and therein lies the problem...nobody's ever going to like a sequel on it's own merits because it'll measured against the first movie). As far as everybody was concerned, the same amount of fun they had doing GB1 was there on the set of GB2...

Source? I've never really heard that.

And to be honest a video game is a wildly good idea to give us another Ghostbusters, as for a new film? It's a terrible idea, have we not been keeping up with the quality of recent revived franchises? Or even remakes? How about the sequals? They're brutally bad.

Alien Ressurection
AvP
AvP Reqrium
Halloween
Psycho
Superman
Starsky and Hutch
Dukes of Hazard
Terminator
War of the Worlds
Jurassic Park 3
Hostle
Saw
Spoof Movies

Just to name a few.

A new age film for Ghostbusters would be awful. Production companies have too much of a hand in what's released today. It's all about the quick buck most of the time, sadly.

The booklet for the '99 DVD release of GB2 has Bill Murray saying that during the initial lunch meeting "...we had so many laughs and so much fun that it became clear we'd really enjoy working together again."

Not really a concrete source, but I am certain that I've heard Dan and Harold corroborate that there was little bad blood on the set in various interviews (it has been awhile since I've listened to the GB1 commentary, so Harold could have said there too).

The only bits of negativity I've found was that all involved were initially reluctant to return due to feeling that GB1 capped everything, and were all unsatisfied with the final cut of the movie.

Yeah, agreed. They all of course seem pretty chummy in all the Behind the Scenes GB2 vids as well. :D

guys..read here! http://www.slashfilm.com/2008/02/22/big ... ouncement/

Patrick claims that the trailer weren't shown because the PROJECTOR WAS BROKEN, so "the trailer will be show when the projector will be fixed"!!

more funny is the fact that he believe that at the comic con there were only one projector. less fun is the fact that he could have some serious mental problems...

Naa i liked gb2.

oh no of corse personally i have no worries that gb3 would have a great story and that buut,
its just it was such a 80's thing,

even though i like it, gb2 didnt have the 80's feel that gb1 had,
and a film now would just be too much maybe.

not to mention that everyone will be making proton packs and costumes,
we might not be special anymore!!!

lol!!!

I loved GB II and I would love to see a GB III done properly. Who knows what the future of the franchise will be. What I do know is that for the first time in many years, the franchise has a future and is living again. It's a good feeling.

I love that guy!

Now, onto the business at hand. Ghostbusters III? I highly doubt it. Trust me, people. Ghostbusters: The Video Game is where the cinematic continuation of the franchise is. The best we have coming (and this could be a great thing, as the initial game looks amazing) would be a sequel to Ghostbusters: The Video Game.

Because of Murray and a few other things, a third film is a long-shot (CGI or otherwise). Now, if the game does amazingly well, that's a whole other story. But, until then, the game is king and nothing else (a sequel announcement especially) is going to detract from its spotlight.

i was only thinking about what Landis' said.... The game is wonderful and is gettig better and better. A game sequel would be great: it should be a whole NEW story and NEW carachters (but WITH the fab four), without gb1 and gb2 references. and if it will be write again by the guys.......it would be awesome!

I agree... But it seems like Hollywood has trouble making a "proper" sequel to revive a franchise.

Batman had to rest for awhile before it came back and director Chris Nolan has done a great job with it. I think re-launches and continuations can work under the right conditions. I just want to get to the game, be apart of how huge it's going to be and go from there. If a third FILM is in the works, great, if not, we are in the same position we have been in since 1989.

Except we'll have a new medium (the game) that has the potential to go on.

I'd take all the info on the net about GB3 with a grain of salt.

Until there's an official announcement, everything is rumors.

Personally, I'm just happy we're getting a fantastic looking Ghostbusters game...If I had to choose from a game or movie, I'd take the game in a heartbeat.

Master Replicas wouldn't be producing a piece that large. I'd be looking at a PKE meter.

I thought Murray's performance seemed "phoned in." And the special effects in GB2 didn't measure up to the original. Especially Slimer. It was an embarrassment.

I liked the message and story of GB2, but it didn't feel like a Ghostbusters film. It was a pretty darn good movie, but it just didn't hold its own.

That said, I am still shocked that Batman beat it at the box office. That movie was weird and it stunk.
