AJ,

There are FIVE places to get it! 8) I'm the fifth. Here is what I posted about my patch, in another topic (with some additional informations).

I based my "no ghost" patch on a Katarra's. Looking for it, I detailed the "missing" parts of Katarra's "no ghost" patch and made it much more "rounded" than Katarra's. This is why my no ghost looks a little better. :D

See the below comparisson's image:

Image

At left you see my patch. This is a scan from my "No Ghost" patch. I picked up one of my patches and just scanned it. The image at right is Katarra's. This is the image they use at their patch's auction, at E-Bay (so I assume this is the BEST they have to show).

My patch is 100% embroidered (including ghost's background white). Katarra's isn't! They use a white fabric and, if you see one, will see only the black and red embroidered areas.

I have a black outline. Katarra's haven't! The black outline makes the patch stronger and gives a much more professional look!

Well, now you can ask me about price. US$10.00 (shipped worldwide)! Katarra is selling their patch at US$8.95 + shipping.

You can now choose between quality and price... And price's difference is not too much...

That's it! Thanks!

AJ,

I do agree with you. It looks like the same and PROBABLY could be. I found some E-Bay's auction that are using my patch's photo, WITHOUT my authorization.

So, be alert since you could order something, but can receive something different from what you saw!

I'm not reporting this is the specific case, since I didn't see it yet. But at e-bay I found my photo, with some little bright/contrast changes...

Thanks!

Katarra makes great name tags, but I think her No-Ghost patches aren't that great. Just my opinion.

Now my question is, who actually stitches these patches? I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume that they are machine made, and therefore, unless TK-194 has such a machine, he has to order them through another manufacturer. One can only assume that this manufacturer (probably made in either Mexico or Japan) sells these same patches to more than just one source, so the one TK-194 sells are identical to the ones sold elsewhere because they all come from the same initial source. I got mine through Patchgeeks.com, yet another site that sells the patches, and it's identical to the one TK-194 is offering here, and I'm just finding it doubtful that 6 different sources are all printing up their own version of the No Ghost patch on their own machines, and they all look identical. So you really can't claim it's "your" patch if you didn't actually manufacture it yourself.

My patches have the black border, it's the same type of patch most of these other sites are selling, and I was quite pleased with it. In fact I was actually thinking about getting the No Ghost symbol tattooed on my arm, and if I did, I'd choose to put the black border around it then too, it's just more aesthetically pleasing.

I've seen a few "No-Ghost" Tats out there and they were all pretty crappy looking. Make sure if you DO do it, to go to a REALLY good artist. Don't go cheap on your tattoos, you have to live with them forever so you might as well pay for the best.

See'ya!

Martian, my brother has the embroiderer machine and I developed the "No Ghost" program to make them. So, as you said, I can claim it "my" patch.

And my brother don't sell this (and/or any other movie based logos patches we have) to others. If you want one of his patches, you must contact me.

So, I'm assuming there are only 3 "No Ghost" patch's manufacturers in world: Myself, Patchgeeks.com and Katarra.

Anyway, the most important is to offer (or point) the best patch's sellers to let fans have it with great quality.

Thanks!

I recently purchased one of TK's patches. I have to say I am EXTREMELY impressed with the quality. For my costume for halloween I needed a patch and name tag quick so I ordered online. Afterwards I spoke with TK because he said his patches were better quality and even though I needed something quick for halloween I plan on making replica props and I want the uniform to look really good. I decided to give his patch a shot and all I have to say is his patches are great. Katarras seem to be "messy". The name tag was great, but the no ghost patch seemed like the edges are very messy and look like they used cheap sicssors to cut out the patch. TK's howver, is very nice. It is outlined in black so it stands out a little better and there are NO rough edges, it is very smooth lookinh. If you are looking for patch I HIGHLY recommend his. Thank you again TK for the patch.

Hi there Ice!

Thanks a lot for your feedback. I'm very happy to know you enjoyed it and much more to know it delivered in time for Halloween, since we dealed about 10 days BEFORE it.

Again, Ice, if you need another patch, let me know! And if you all need it, let me know! I'll be very happy to supply you all.

Thanks!

Since I work in a tattoo shop I second this, also if you decide to go with a ghost tattoo find an artist that can stick the color white, it will make a world of difference over leaving the ghost your skin-tone... And no, not all artist have the knack to stick white pigment very well...

Now back to your patch talk...

What is the size of the actual screen used no ghost patches?

Seems people are offering sizes from 3" up to 8" in size. I realize that 8" is too big. ;)

Thanks,

Russ

Why shouldn't I order from scifipatch.com? What's wrong with them? I was about to place a fairly large order with them.

I've just recieved my GB1 No-Ghost patch from TK and I'd like to say that I'm extremely impressed with it. I've been using Kathy's (katarra8) no-ghost patch for roughly 2 years now, but I'm going to be removing it, and putting TK's on my flightsuit.

I'm by no means saying that kathy's aren't any good. I'm just saying that TK's are superb! I'm currently using Kathy's nametag, which I'd like to recommend.

Here's the picture I've taken, with Katarra's on the top, and TK's on the bottom.

Yeah! I think that patchs of Vinicius (TK) are the best. He has made me the no-ghost patch and name tag and I'm very happy for his work. Look at!

Thank's TK!!

If you want patchs, ask him. Cheap and excellent result!

Guys,

I must thank Spanish_GB and SlackerDaf for their feedbacks about my job.

As I told them, my idea is to offer the best product, with the best price possible, to let fans (like myself) have a great costume and/or collector's item.

That's it!

Again, thanks you both and everyone who left me a positive feedback.

I have to say that Joseph's patches are by far the best. Some people have a problem with his lack of communication at times, but his are worth the trouble. I can't stand the thick black outline on some of the others being offered. It just looks bad to my eye.

I never personally seen any of his patches. but compared to katarra's patches, TK's are far superior in design and quality. Black backround makes it more neat and clean around the edges and really doesnt bother me that much.

Here's a pic of Joseph's No-Ghost patch on my uniform, sorry for the crappy pic, it's the only shot I have of it on my computer here at work.

Here is a picture of Katarra's...You really cant notice it, but the lines across arent really straight, and the circle has places where it kind of swirves in. This one was better then the other one I got from her. The oher one had an indent in the middle of the slash. And the thing that bothers me about this patch is the extra material that hangs off the side. Thats why I like TKs patches. Everything seems perfect and the only down fall is the black outlining but its whats holding it together. I guess its just a matter of preference. But the way I see it, I rather it look neat then look choppy around the edges. Plus be able to hold together. If I try and trim the edge of Katarra's patches Im afraid it will start to come apart.

Those edges are accurate to how the movie ones are, if you want to get that picky.

Guys,

Just a few comments. I'm TK-194, one of world's "No Ghost 1" and "No Ghost 2" seller.

The idea of my patches are to offer a good quality, price and a long life patch, to fans who wants to make only once a costume.

The movie worn patches are low quality, with loosing lines, etc... because it isn't necessary to have a long life. When movie's production end, it will be trashed or archived. This is why movie's patches are so poor.

There are movie accurate patches out there? Yes! Mine are better made, with more attention to durability instead of accuracy? Maybe. But as I told, I want to make patches and sell them only once, to each fan.

I don't want to sound rude or even see a flame war here. This is only to answer some doubts I noticed we had, in this topic, specifically. 8)

So, it's your choice. If you feel better wearing a movie accurate patch (that definitively has low production's quality) is up to you. If you prefer to own a better quality patch (with resolution and long life time), up to you too! But the most important in this case is: YOU MUST BE SATISFIED WITH YOUR PURCHASE!

In no way, please, I want to be bad with my friends J. Kerezman (from http://www.costumecostumecostume.com) or from the staff ot Katarra8. And in NO WAY I'll accept this and I'm sure my friends either.

By the way, the best of these forums and discussions is that we know who is a trustable seller, who will receive our money and will send us back what we purchased and product's quality. This is the best of these foruns and, more than this, I than you all, that accepted all us as good and trustable sellers.

I guess we have "tastes" for all patches made. So, let's have fun and direct others to the best source for each one! :D

Thanks for reading my 0.02 cents and see'ya!
