I would like the light bar ro raise.or lower based on the volume i set with a volume knob going to my sound board. Anyone have an idea how i could wire that?

LM3914 with a signal off the volume knob would do it. If you unable to wire it up yourself though I'd suggest not tackling the project unless you really want to dig into electronics design.
