Lots of Ghostbusters Fans are scrambling right now to put together their first Ghostbusters costume using authentic parts. We've got a few tips for people putting together their costumes at the last minute, there is still time to do things right! Want to put together a quick and easy uniform? Read on...

Flight Suit
Getting a Khaki or Navy colored flight suit is one of the most important parts of any Ghostbusters costume. It lays the foundation for your costume and will largely affect people's ability to know who you are. We offer a small selection of Flight Suits in the Ghostbsters Fans Shop. If we don't have your size, don't fret as we are constantly updating stock levels, so check back soon. If you are looking locally, you can find Dickies Brand Coveralls. Dickies also makes great dress suits for women which are extremely popular for the female Ghostbusters. Another option would be to find painters coveralls, and dye them khaki or navy. If you can't find a flight suit or coveralls, remember you can always wear khaki pants and a khaki shirt!

Patches
One of the most important parts of creating the uniform is to get some kind of identifiable No-Ghost logo on your shoulder. The Ghostbsters Fans Shop has two of the most accurate recreations of the logos available. Can't get one of the patches in time for Halloween? There are a few alternatives to putting a logo on your costume. You can print out the Ghostbusters Logo using iron-on transfer paper, available at most home office stores. This will create a passable logo on your shoulder, but it won't look perfect. You could instead pick up sticker paper from the home office store, and affix that to the uniform. It would be removable and one of the best options for a quick logo. A final option would be to use a marker or a stencil to paint a logo onto your suit. Do this if you don't plan on using your coveralls, or shirt again!

You will also need to come up with a name tag for your suit. We sell the absolute best recreations of the Ghostbusters 1 name tag. We've got Spengler, Stantz, Venkman, & Zeddemore. Can't pick one up in time for Halloween? You can use a similar method for the No-Ghost logo that we talked about above.

Belt and Accessories
In order for you to look the part, you need to have a belt and some cool gadgets. The Ghostbsters Fans Shop has the best Khaki Belts you can find, and the closest Black Belts to the ones custom made for Ghostbusters 2. We've also go all the accessories needed for costume: Gloves, Keychains, Flashlights and Yellow Hose. If you don't have time before Halloween or order you can find similar items from your local hardware store.

Check back in a few days we will take a look at inexpensive ways to make other last minute Ghostbusters props, and as always check out the Ghostbusters Fans Shop for great parts for your Ghostbusters costume. And remember to post pictures on the forums and in your profile to show off your costume!

As a female Ghostbuster, I wouldn't be caught in one of those Dickie outfits. :sigh: But then, I take bustin' a little more seriously. I do get the whole I wan't to look slutty for Halloween, but if you want to do it right, ladies, get the jumpsuit.

A flight suit is by far the best way to go for either gender.

I think Dickies makes some very nice and unslutty versions of outfit.

Actually, I really dig the variations we saw at Dragoncon this year by the ladies. No two were really the same, and each did something unique with the idea.

Plus the nomex suits can be quite uncomfortable in a club, since they don't breathe at all.

Yeah those pics and the link are helpful except you can't find those outfits on the website you provided. Can you provide links for those specific outfits AJ?

The link is right below it, dickiesgirl.com unfortunately those dresses/jumpsuits are no longer available, there are still 3 dresses on dickies website though.

I usually hear that argument from women who are insecure about theirselves. If the jumpsuit is a personal style preference that's one thing but calling a dress slutty? I don't think my wife or any of the other respectable female fans would appreciate that very much. Maybe choose your words a little more wisely in the future.

So suggesting those outfits to someone as alternatives is pretty useless then. That was incredibly counterproductive. Does anyone have suggestions for women's jumpsuits that can be used that are still for sale on current websites?

Well if those 3 remaining dresses are not to your liking you could possibly try the "UFO girly hipster flight suit" (yes that's the real name) other than that you're basically stuck with the men's military flight suits.

I'm going to be getting Ivonne a regular flight suit and hemming the legs into shorts.

I found this at Duluth Trading Co. It is women's work coveralls. Not exactly like the flightsuits that men wear but it is designed for a female, so it may fit better. The hard part about men's flightsuits is that for us curvier women they don't fit right. They are too big in some areas and not roomy enough in others. Men just aren't built the same as women.

My girlfriend is going dress as a female Ghostbuster this year and due to lack of time to do the costume right we're going with the main stream female Ghostbsuter costume, I hate to call anything slutty, yes the the model in the picture basically has her breast hanging out but my girlfriend is going to cover up so she's not so exposed and the costume I think works pretty well. But I think if we do this again or if we go to a convention we'll probably do the uniforms posted by AJ, I think they are very presenatable, tasteful but sexy at the same time.

That jumpsuit Teamhair posted is available now, and odds are you'd have it in 4 or 5 days, in plenty of time for halloween. Odds are its probably cheaper and far more durable then one of those sexcy gb outfits.

Unfortunately the suits that AJ posted a pic of are no longer available. If she wants to do a dress there are 3 styles of dresses available but not the jumpers anymore. I know it is kinda misleading. If you have any sewing talent it is always possible to find patterns for jumpsuits that could be customed made to fit her when you get around to making the non-Halloween outfit. If she is curvy or busty at all I would not recommend a men's flightsuit as they are not designed for women's curves in mind and will not fit right. (speaking from experience here)

You should just offer the whole thing as a package deal, that would be fresh.

Right I would have the suit in time but in order to do things right I probably wouldn't have it done in time for Halloween, I just recently finished building my Belt gizmo and I just got the yellow hose yesterday and I ordered it the last week of Sept. I'm a perfectionist and if I'm going to do I want to do it right. So I might start working on it but between work and school I doubt I could have it done before Halloween. But thanks for the suggestions.

Unfortunately that would not be possible.

I would need to have every size with every name tag and every belt and every other thing. Just add the items to your cart in your own mix and match type deal. There is also the problem with things going out of stock and whatnot..

It may be possible in the future to have a system in place to have packages that maybe save a few dollars... but it would be difficult.
