Just unveiled at San Diego Comic Con from Mattel the Vigo the Carpathian figure from Ghostbuster 2! This figure has been a long time in the making and will be available December 2011 from MattyCollector.com. Since this figure stands on it own, no packin Ghost will be included by a really awesome lenticular painting will be included for him to stand in front of!

Be sure to check out all of our photos from San Deigo Comic Con on our Facebook page here.

Is he going to be the club exclusive?

MattyCollector will not be releasing a custom (non-repaint) figure as a club exclusive... I think. It would be a waste of expensive molds.

I heard that the Rookie was going to be the Club exclusive. Supposedly it was announced by accident on the Mattycollector boards.

It better be packaged with pedistal and Carpathian kitten or no sale!

There is some pretty heavy hinting on the Stay Puft Packaging as well. Rookie or Louis at least. A fifth GB.

awesome!!!! its about time, especially with no stand alone ghosts so far. he better have his painting with him too, with different backdrops that you can change for in/out of painting and floating head!!!!

I think a rubber mask type head to fit over Ray's figure would be a great add onto Vigo or even a pop on extra head to pop on Ray.

The body looks great, but the headsculpt likeness looks inferior to the custom statue headculpt that Vince here had done. That might change by release time though. (The hair also looks darker than it should probably be as well, but thats easy for customizers to correct.)

If they are smart, they'll package him with a plastic painting stand, posed like the painting, and with a cardboard printed painting backdrop. That would be a great looking collectable for collector openers and also people who leave things in packages.

But where the heck do we find a 6" scale kitten for him? ;)

I'm a little disappointed that Gozer and the Terror dogs weren't released before Vigo. I'm still happy they are doing him, I just thought they would them first that's all.
Oh well maybe they will be in the 2012 line up.

this is cool, but a pass for me.
I would Imagine this figure is still being developed.
his face still needs work, it is nowhere near the quality of the other figures.

I also really hope a Rookie figure is not the club ecto exclusive, that is one figure I want but I am not willing to join the club ecto to get it.
Most of the figures from the last club ecto I did not want, the club is just not worth it for me, I dont have as big of a income for all those figures either.

technically speaking Gozer and the terror dogs have been released by NECA (I think) not by Matty, I thought I heard some time ago that Matty was not going to do them because NECA already did them, I could be wrong but that's. what i can remember about the subject.

There are some licensing issues mixed in there.. but I think the main reason for not doing those figures is because it requires a LOT of new molds. That's why we have been getting repaints and variants for the past 2 years.. its the most economical thing.

Terror dogs do deserve their own release, which means they would have to be a lot more intricate compared to the normal pack in ghosts.

We haven't even heard (anything official) of the 2012 lineup so lets wait to hold off judgment on that. You might be surprised!

"Largo... ora ascoltami... Io, Vigo, il despota di Carpazia e di Moldavia, comando e voglio!" Italian Quote form when Vigo first talks.
Beautiful. I am much more tied to GBII than GBI. This will find a place on my shelf!

He looks awesome, don't forget he is a prototype that's just been painted so the little niggling issues people have are likely to go
