This is pretty awesome. The submission fees ($15) go to the American Cancer Society, right?

This is a great idea! I can't wait to check out all the submissions. From what I've been seeing in the way of GB fan films, the competition should be pretty stiff...lots of great stuff out there!

Ha I was wondering when someone was going to do something like this. Its an awsome idea I can't wait to see who all enters into the running.

That's correct, Kevin, every cent of the submission fees go to the American Cancer Society.

Also, multiple submissions from the same source are allowed, but an additional donation or application fee for each episode or separate video will be requested.

I'd absolutely LOVE if we could premiere a film or two as a part of the contest.

We're open to showing trailers that aren't competing on the site as a form of free advertisement if you're interested. The "Ghostheads" trailer should be one of the first "Exhibition" trailers you'll see on the site.

Want to compete in the first ever Ghostbusters Fan Film Contest?

Applicants will find links on the site below to review rules and guidelines, as well as instructions on how to apply to compete and a synopsis of how the voting will take place.

Here's a brief timeline on the contest:

May 16-30th: Applications considered for competition.
May 30-June 13: Voting Period. Fans may vote once per day, per computer for 14 days and may vote for any combination of films they chose.
June 15: Winner is announced and contacted.
June 30: Acceptance speech is requested to have been sent back to us to post on the site from Winner and Runner-Up.

wow ! it's good news. i am a huge fan of it.

So, someone hacked the website we had up as we were taking submission for the contest. We're sliding the schedule back about 5 days while we rebuilt and refortify the site. Some of you were hoping for a little more time to get your films ready. Looks like you got it! Thanks, hackers who take down sites raising money to fight cancer! You really are a credit to hackerdom..... *cough*

Wow, what a way to contribute to society. Sorry that this happened to you guys. Hopefully it'll turn out for the best and you guys are able to make a larger total contribution for the fight against cancer! We can only be optimistic for such a great cause! Goodluck guys!

Hoping to see that submission from SLC, Sketch! If you don't compete I'm going to send naked picture's of Wess to your girlfriend!

My question is: How exactly did you obtain said pictures?

Really glad to hear from both you guys! The site's nearing re-useable status. We'll have an annoucement here and all over Facebook when the time comes. Shooting for Thursday, which would put everything on a 5 day slide. Not too shabby.

We’re Back! Completely overhauled and ready for a summer of excitement, the Louisiana Ghostbusters Golden Ghost Awards fan film contest has returned!

Every wonder what a real Ghostbuster would think of your fan film?

Think your acting chops or effects shine above the competition?

Fancy a fun way to benefit breast cancer research?

This summer’s Ghosties will feature many of the great aspects of last year’s competition like a custom trophy and widespread exposure for your project as the only *Ghostbusters* fan film contest with some MAJOR differences:

-Instead of a popular vote your film will be viewed an critiqued by *cast and crew of the actual **Ghostbusters** films and cartoons!*

-Hand-picked superfans from around the world, most with television and film backgrounds, will also get to select their favorites!

-Categories will be judged like:

Best Ensemble Cast
Best Visual Effects
Best Original Script
Best performance by an actor or actress
Best Overall Fan Film

-More awards will be given out this year so that you have not two (last year) but six opportunities to win Golden Ghost swag and claim the bragging rights that your fan film stood out in its category!
