We have decided where to eat. We have decided a time.

What'll ya have?

On Saturday Night, everyone from GbFans is cordially invited to eat with the rest of us at The Varsity! The Varsity represents a restaurant unique to Atlanta, that also has good food.

The food is a bit fast food-ish, but I promise you the onion rings are great. The full menu can be found here.

Our plan is to arrive at The Varsity, by whatever means of travel you like at 7 P.M. and order our food. We need an accurate headcount to ensure we have enough space, so if you are sure you are going to commit - please reply stating CONFIRMED 1 GUEST, or however many guests you will have.

How do I get there?
Good question, I have an answer. If you have your own vehicle, you can drive. If you feel froggy, you can walk. If you want to pay a buck seventy five and take MARTA, well go for it cowboy. RESPECTIVE LINKS TAKE YOU TO VARIOUS METHODS. Tentatively, we will have some sort of document with basic directions there at the GBFans/GBTV tables on Friday/early Saturday.

SUPER UPDATE
As if having a good time out with all of your fellow fans wasn't enough; we have some interesting news - Night on the Town will be the site of the grand Ghostheads/GBTV item give-a-way! So show up, perhaps win an eclectic piece of something!

We are still looking over the dc event list, but odds are we'll be there as well. (We just bought our tickets today)

you can confirm myself, techbot, winbot 5000 and 4 other busters that arent registered.

so is anyone bringing gear? or is everyone just suiting up. ive never been to this place so i dont know what the conditions are like.

We'll have our gear.. just packs n wands, unless I get creative and make a trap finally.

We'll play it by ear to see what everyone else is doing.

i just confirmed it on the map, but most of my party isnt registered on the site. so my response on there will need to count as 7 people.

We're in there will be me and one other Atl Buster.

They should be ok with gear. I'll have mine likely.

Just a thought.. 10 guys in a resteraunt, who can;t sit in thier gear, with 10 sets of proton packs laying around.

I can see going suited up, but in gear sounds liek a recipe for disaster to me.

Leave your packs in your hotel. Uniforms should at least be worn.

i don't advise bringing it. But I'm sure if you had too they wouldn't have a fit.

Yeah, I need to add an additional person, please. My friend Ty is going with me.

Just realized something.. we are taking the commuter into the convention.. we'll have our gear on all day because its also parade day as well.

Is this close to where the convention is, withon walking distance, or will we need to hitch a ride with someone, and if so, any offers?

This would be for two and packs.

Well, since we can't wear packs, then I should show up in red long johns with some remnants of pink slime to sling around.

We'll have to have our packs with us, after realizing this is also parade day. I suspect others will be in the same boat.

We still haven't decided how many days should be "gear" days, and how many should but be geek dress down days yet.

If need be we can figure out a way for you guys who need to store your packs to do so.

I recommended to Dan that we should have handouts with directions from the Con to the Place we are eating..

If a pic is posted here, we could also see it in advance, or print it out ourselves as well.

I don't have any of my normal programs with me, so it would be difficult.

I could possibly help, if needed. I can upload the file(s) to web space I have.

I'm unfamiliar with the area though, so someone else might be able to provide the best route, if mapquest gives a garbage route.

I just used google earth to look at the area.. it looks like walkers would need to use an overpass to cross the highway running through town.. I noticed there are also some free dragon con shuttles provided as well.. maybe one runs closer to the restraunt, and crosses that highway?

The distance from Dragoncon is a tad over a half mile. Anyone walking the parade in gear, but without a hotel room or a vehicle to stow gear in a parking area would have to walk that. Not a biggie, but it might be for some after a full day at the con itself.

I can get a great overhead map from google earth for directions
