Currently the GBVG "Levels" section just covers the realistic version, but there's no notation to indicate that these levels are only in the realistic version. Would it be possible to either rename the page to something like: "Ghostbusters: The Video Game Levels - Realistic Version" or add a section on the page for the Stylized levels?

I'm thinking that the whole GBVG subpage structure needs to be redone so as to distinguish what's in the realistic version, the stylized version, and maybe even the DS version. That would probably be something that AJ would have to do on the back-end.

Any thoughts?

Definitely.

But I don't have the Wii version and have no idea what the levels are.

Can you provide me with a list of all the levels (both Realistic and Stylized) and I will resort them.

Abso-freakin'-loutely!

On the Wii, "Under New Management" is just one level. You should list it as one level on the site, and it can be noted in its page where it breaks off into three levels on the PS2.

The list below comes from this PS3 walkthrough. I've not played through the PC game far enough to confirm all of these - I only recently got the damn thing to work - but from what I've seen so far, it all looks correct.

The realistic version eschews "levels" in favor of "checkpoints". So this is technically a list of locations and checkpoints.

As you can see, both realistic and stylized versions have the same locations. I think the names in the list below are what the official names are. The location (not level) names in my PS2/Wii list are what I personally use. The level names in the PS2/Wii list I posted ARE what the game uses. It seems to me that the PS2/Wii doesn't have any unique names for the locations, as the ending screen for the first and second sets of hotel levels all say "Sedgewick Hotel", even though the second set are from what could be considered a "different" location - if you know what I mean.

Anyway, I probably over explained things.

It should be noted that although both games have the same locations, they do NOT have the same levels/checkpoints and activities. For example, all of the stuff outside in Times Square doesn't exist in the PS2/Wii game. It just jumps straight from the Sedgewick to the basement of the office building.

Oh yeah... you might want to make a "Firehouse" page for each version since there are things to do/see in each of the firehouses (more so in the realistic version). Just a thought.

I hope all of this information, links, lists, and explanations help.

Let me know when you make the changes and add the stylized version levels to the site. I'd like to try to help with them while I still have a little time to do so.

Hmm.

Aren't all the levels there? I'm confused as to how they should be broken down further.

Perhaps the pages themselves should just have a section for realitic or stylized versions?

Yes, on the "Levels" page the seven main locations are indeed there - though "Panic in Times Square" can be rather misleading in terms of the stylized version as that location is just inside one building.

However, if you go to any of the seven pages linked there - such as the "Welcome to the Sedgewick Hotel" page - it just lists the information for the realistic version (the checkpoints and so on).

Does that make the situation a little clearer?

Now I suppose the "Levels" page could be sectioned using headers to separate it into two lists for each version, but then there would need to be a new set of pages created for the stylized versions' levels/locations to link to. Is it possible for a user to create new pages, or is that something that only you can do, AJ?

And then I have to ask: should each of the stylized version's 28 levels have it's own page, or should they be discussed on the page for each location? The realistic version has all checkpoints for a location on each location page, but in that version the checkpoints seamlessly flow right into each other. In the stylized version each level is distinctly separately by a loading screen with the level name on it.

Levels aside, the other area where the stylized version needs to be represented is on the Ghosts page. There are 103 entities in the game, some of which aren't ghosts (the four GBs, for example). So should they go on the Ghosts page, should that page get sectioned for each version... what's the best way to handle that?

I will just change the urls to be generic.

Each level has its own page.. and on each of those pages it should have a section for Realistic (At the top) and Stylized below that. With in each section there should be mention of the different break downs. Those shouldn't have their own pages.

Basically take what is already there and re-arrange it and edit it. (But don't completely remove it.. because I love what is being started there!)

AJ

I think I'm following you. I updated the Welcome to the Sedgewick Hotel with information for the stylized version. Before I make any changes to the rest of the pages, please look this over and let me know if you approve.

I didn't fill in the Art Pages section because I don't remember specifically which pages are on the levels. But I wanted to get the section created so it can be filled in later - if not by me, then by someone else.

You said, "I will just change the urls to be generic." Just to make sure I'm still on the same page, which urls were you referring to? The urls for the level pages, right? Because a few of those should be made generic. Specifically, these:

* "Panic in Times Square" should be changed to "Times Square"
* "New York City Library" should be changed to "New York Public Library
* "Lost Island Rising" should be changed to "Lost Island" (or even "Shandor's Island")

I've made a notation on the main levels page that the Time Square section is just the office building in the stylized version. Couple that with the generic name change should, I hope, avoid any confusion for anyone looking for info on the stylized version.

The Library change is just to be accurate to the actual building's official name.

I also noticed that there's a real glut of GBVG subpages:

* Ghostbusters: The Video Game for PC
* Ghostbusters: The Video Game for PS2
* Ghostbusters: The Video Game for Wii
* Ghostbusters: The Video Game for PS3
* Ghostbusters: The Video Game for DS
* Ghostbusters: The Video Game for Xbox360

As each of these contains nothing more than just a box art image, I think they should be combined into a single "Box Art" page. That is, unless you plan to add specific information about each version to each page - but what more is there to say that isn't covered by the other pages?

Maybe if someone has the DS version and can provide full detailed info on what's in that game, they can use the DS page for that. But otherwise, the game content is covered on other pages.

* Ghostbusters: The Video Game Teaser - Rule #1
* Ghostbusters: The Video Game Teaser - Rule #2
* Ghostbusters: The Video Game Teaser - Rule #3
* Ghostbusters: The Video Game Trailer #1
* Ghostbusters: The Video Game Trailer #2

Most of these pages are bare. Couldn't they be combined into a single "Trailers" or "Trailers and TV Spots" page?

By the way, I'm sorry if I'm being a pain in the butt. I'm just trying to do what I can to make the section as complete as possible.

Check the changes I made here:

I'm glad someone is finally working on pages in depth! I'll look at the other changes tomorrow.

Okay, I see what you did. Very nice. I just applied that format to the other pages. Now I'll try to fill in the details.

Okay, all pages are done. They're as complete as I can possibly make them right now. The groundwork has been started, the framework is there, so if someone wants to finish what I started, they're welcome to do it.

All that's left for you to do is:

1. Change the urls for the following pages (I already changed the names):

* "Panic in Times Square" should be changed to "Times Square"
* "New York City Library" should be changed to "New York Public Library
* "Lost Island Rising" should be changed to "Lost Island"

2. Create pages for all of the new ghosts/entities I added. If you want the data to add to them, you can get that from my Tobin's Spirit Guide guides:

* Realistic: http://www.gamefaqs.com/computer/doswin ... 4008/56821
* Stylized: http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/file/944009/56841

3. As I previously mentioned, you should consider combining all of the box art pages into one, and all of the trailer pages into one. It makes the bottom of the main GBVG page look a little neater. You know, the area where it says "Links Below This Category".

A side benefit of doing this little project for your site is that I updated my Tobins guides. The updates have been submitted, but GameFaqs probably won't update the files online until tomorrow. I found out that there are about a dozen extra entity entries on the stylized game disc that don't appear in the game (they were removed).
