Back in September three guys from Colorado set out to drive their Ghostbusters " Ecto-2k" across the US through a dozen states on their way to PKE Surge 2009. Unfortunately for them, their 2008 Dodge Magnum broke down in the middle of Ohio, leaving them stranded. Ghostbusters Fans banded together and raised some money to get them and their car home. Rather than spend the money getting the car fixed, and flying / shipping the car back, they have decided to put the money towards a worthy cause. Many options and charities came up, but it wasn't until now that one has finally stood out. Starting Wednesday December 2 we will be once again climbing into the Ecto-2k and driving across several states to meet up with fans at the " Hey You Guys" Ghostbusters charity event in Pasadena California. Ghostbusters Fans will be riding shotgun and will allow you to come along with us. Please check out the Ecto Across America page as it becomes activated once again December 3rd. The "Hey You Guys" Charity event will be on Saturday December 5th in Pasadena California at the famous Rialto theater. Artwork (including Ghostbusters themed art) will be auctioned off and all proceeds will go towards Donors Choose, an organization that supports underfunded school programs in California. All money raised from the initial Ecto Across America will go towards the event. If you wish to donate, please see the Ecto Across America page for information on how to donate. More information can be found at http://www.heyyouguyscharity.com/

AJ will land at an airport, and proceed to say - "I wanna go with them in the car."

Kevin has driven to California in his Ecto already this year with no problems at all. You make it seem as though the breakdown in Ohio was HIS fault because he was f****g around or some shit. It was a damn bearing failure due to MOPAR parts, not Kevin's actions. and also, he never ever once asked for any money to help get back home, that was entirely AJ's idea and I think it was a fantastic idea too. The fact that he's now taking that money and doing something charitable with it just makes you look like even more of a douche.

/\ /\ /\ What can I say, man knows his Boomerjinks history.
We did not ask for, or accept the money that was raised for us by the GBfans community. The car made the trip home from Ohio flawlessly, and the drive to and from San Diego in July went off without a hitch.
Petevenkmanjedi is talking out of his ass.

We are going from Colorado to Pasadena for a showing of Ghostbusters (for Charity) and meeting up with lots of famous fans. The community didn't pay for any kind of tomfoolerly, it was generosity for an unfortunate problem. That money instead will go to help a real cause.. but since you think it is a bad idea and all.... you are kind of an ass.

Speaking of which, we will be giving updates from the road in the form of twitter update and, where available, chat. One of the things that we found really lacking with the last trip was the profound lack of meeting other members of the community. Aside from our scheduled rest stops, we only got to meet up with one Fan, which was in Iowa.
I'd really like to see this trip be different. If you live in the L.A. area, give us a shoutout or, better yet, come to the screening. I will have some items with me that I am going to use to start the GBFans Relay, and we need as many people as possible.
So get off your butt, don't be shy, send us a message and come meet up!
Don't forget to add EctoTrip to your twitter.

I do too typically, but I have to wonder if something more is bothering you. What you said is really out of character for you - and well sort of unfounded. It pains me a lot to defend Kev2, but I think everyone else is right here. . .

If I could, I go and check it out in Pasadena! With my two camera, photos and video. You should make a Facebook event of it too if you are on Facebook.

I'll be the first to admit that I usually tend to ignore all things Boomerjinks so I had no idea he had driven the 2K to California already. I didn't follow the first ecto across America thread very closely and didn't really know how everything resolved.
I have been living in a state of permanent frustration for the last few years (I'm working on resolving that) and as a result I've been pretty much been walking around with one foot firmly planted in my mouth. So as a result, for the most part, I have adopted the policy of just not saying anything when I have nothing nice to say. But my fatigue and frustration got the better of me today. I should have thought twice before posting. I'm not asking for forgiveness for what I said, heck you don't even have to like me, however, I realize I just should have kept my mouth shut. I was clearly out of line and won't gum up this thread anymore.
Curse you, Boomer, that tomfoolery pic you is posted actually pretty funny and made me laugh. How dare you make me smile when I am feeling so angry.

Have fun out there Boomer, I'm sure you guys will have a flawless trip in the Ecto 2K. However I do want to say I am posting this while in Atlanta, GA at this very moment and had driven the Ecto 10 (not yet converted though). Just throwing out a tease to you I made it down from Ohio.

Here's what to do if you want to register in the minds of other people.
1. Introduce yourself with your first name.
2. Shake their hand, and ask them their name.
3. Say their name back to them, this will help you remember it.
4. Say who you are on the forums at least once. Names that are a bunch of letters and numbers will be harder to recall, so this is important.
5. Remember how important it is to give your real name, you're a person in the real world first and foremost at this point.
6. Ask questions and engage in conversation.
7. Do not show off your Ghostbusters ringtone. No one cares.
8. Become friends.
