Hey!!! Afther watching Pete_VenkmanJedy protonpack (His p.p. is my guide, i hope mine ends up looking as incredible as his!!!!!!! ) , and Spanish_ghostbuster´s wood pp, I got really inspired. I wanted a PP that wouldn´t weight too much, sturdy and that looked like NEW!, so me and a friend of mine who owns a shop (and knows nothing about GBs) decided to scratch build one, with Stefan´s plans. Its made of pvc and poliethilene. At first I looks like its made of some kind of carton, or paper, but its very very sturdy. We´ll make it to add lights on the pack and gun. I want to make the tip of the gun to detached (like when the GB fights GOZER at the end of GB1). . We found a little can that matched the messurments of the N- Filter on the cyclotron, so we cheated a little bit there…. We are going to work on it and next saturday i´ll post some more. Like Spanich GB said… why rush? This is the fun part!!!!!!! The process of building it!!!!!

Well, its made of plastic. When you want to mold it, you have to use heat. I used some pvc toubing here and there also.

Image

Whe worked a litle bit more... and i thinck its gaining shape by now..... some parts are missing. I ordered a couple of knobs from Charles , i hope they arrive soon!!! I´m worried because "No news from my alice frame"... By next week i thinck i´ll be done, i´ll have to finish the pack and then attach it to the frame..... OH WELL!!!!! Tell mw what you thinck.

Image

Every time i see it, i DROOL!!!!! can´t help it!!!!

Image

The HGA Is not glued yet--- but you get the idea!!!! I don´t know where to put the batteries for the lights. But i´ll figureit out.

Image

Nothing is glued yet. BUt i´ll do it by tomorrow.

Image

Cheers!!!!!

wow, very impressive!!!!!!

as for lights and batteries, you can mount a battery holder to the inside or outside of the mother board. i would suggest outside the motherboard near the alice frame. its much easier to change batteries on the go that way.... trust me. im redoing mine cause everything was inside and a pain in the ass to get to

A friend who has paypal bought it for me from ebay. now he has to get it so he can send it from usa to ecuador.... BUMMER!!!!! I´ll try to put the batteries behind the cyclotron space on the motherboard. Hope it works out!!!!!!! The good think is that the pack won´t be that heavy!!!!!!!! I´m so Happy!!!!

I think the same. You're building a PVC ppack and it isn't heavy... My ppack made of wood isn't so heavy such as I had thought! The heavier piece in ppack is the ALICE frame... Remember you have to fit a foam in the bar (to don't break your neck carrying it, jheje). And I don't think the lights installation is very heavy, don't worry! :)

I´m going to build my v-hook . Well not me, somebody i know who has the tools! This sat. i´m getting my alice frame!!! Would be great if somebody can give me an idea of how to attach a complete proton pack to an alice frame. I know the logical thing would have been to attach the moder board first, but i already glued the thing together.... well i´ll figure it out.

Any ideas will be welcome!!!!

Wow! Finally got my alice frame! Bought it from EBAY!!! Cost me $17 plus shipping! They said it was in mint condition, but it looks VERY used!!! oh..well, it doesn´t matter cause i really like it!!!!!! I´m a litle confused in attaching the strap waist. I´ll look the tutorial on that subject.!!! Now i have to attach the unfinish pack to the frame.....Humm! any ideas?

Image

I ordered the frame black and the straps green!!!! It looks pre´wedered.. but since i´m going for the "new" look, i´ll just re-paint the frame and wash the straps..... I´ll paint the pack and frame with black metal paint !

Image

Cheers!

Sal

The kidney pads, the lower bigger pad, is on the wrong side of the frame, I actually can't see what you did lol, but it just needs to be on the opposite side with the shoulder straps. They can be very weird at first to understand, but it's fairly practical if you just think about it.

Good luck attaching the pack to the frame, I remember that being one of the funnest parts...sarcastically ;) lol

I still haven´t build the piece that holds the gun. That´s gotta be the strongest and securest part of the p.p. I´m planning on making it of strong wood. and the V hook from aluminium.

Image

Is it me or the split tubing is too rigid????? What did you guys used to make it flexible???

Cazafantasma,

To put the loom in the pvc pipes I used vacuum tubes... You've used covered pipes, and now, it's difficult to put loom in the pipes.

In the gearbox, you filled the pipe with a piece and now you can't introduce the loom inside... If you don't remove that piece to liberate the pipe and then, introduce the loom... I dont know what you can do! :?

An image to explain my words:

Yeah, i have to cut a hole in there so that the tubbing can go through it!!!!! I felt like the pvc pipes are a litle weak... do they work fine?

What are vacuum tubes?

Hehehe, it's a bad description to talk about uncovered pipes... Sorry, i'm a bit crazy! hehe

Weak?? well, I think pvc pipes are very strong! Unless I've used an other class of pvc pipes!
