I decided today I'm going to make a Star Trek Ghostbusters costume. I will be converting a water gun into a "Slime Phaser". I also plan on buying the 2009 movie communicator and TNG tricorder and painting them. The tricorder will be my PKE meter. Still trying to figure out what to use as a trap. I'm also hung-up on what sort of patch to use. I was thinking of using a patch from TOS and using the no symbol instead of the division logo in the middle. My boyfriend thinks I should do a no ghost patch and Trek it up somehow, but I don't want it to be cheesy. I will of course use the Dickie's Betty Ford dress in red and probably use the GB2 belt for my gadgets. My first project is the phaser. Comments are welcome. I might need some help guys!

That's awesome. Thanks! I just painted the gun and communicator. I will post pics later once I'm done adding details. The Slime Phaser still needs some parts. I need to get a pvc elbow and some sort of vile or bottle for slime. I'll probably order the dress next week or the following week.

I finished painting! Just need to paint and add the PVC piece, then connect the vile of slime. I'd like to add more to it, but I'm unsure. Any suggestions? I decided after buying more primer I'm going to paint my toy slime blower pack and make that my refill tank. I found the perfect gloves for my costume but I'm probably not going to have the money in time to buy them. :( Damn you eBay! Enough bitching...Here's some pics!

Still debating what to do for the logo, but this is a thought.

After deciding on the logo I have decided to go with the khaki version of that dress.

Thanks! Unfortunately it's going to be awhile. Funds are short right now. I'm still looking for a good place to order a patch. Most websites want you to order a minimum of 10 and quotes I've been getting are around $100. If I could make it myself things would go along a lot quicker. I'm also still undecided if I'm gonna do a red patch with khaki dress or gold patch with red dress.

If you end up having to order a lot of patches. I would take a few (2-4) off of your hands.

I love the crossover idea and look forward to the finished product saving the day in the future.

Cheers

Good luck with that.

There's no link obviously. I just wanted to combine my favoritest thing in the world with my boyfriend's favoritest thing in the world. I actually hated Trek until I he got me into it.

Sebastian I will let you know if I end up ordering in bulk.

Finished my Slime Phaser. I'm not really happy with it. Feel free to let me know what I can do to make it better.

I decided to do my own patch for now. It's simple looking but once it's on the dress and the outfit is put together I'm hoping it will look awesome.

The crossover idea is a good one. I'm looking forward to seeing a product out of it too. If you do end up having custom patches made I'm sure a few people here would be interested in a acquiring some.

Cool lets do it then! Does anybody have some good ideas for other custom patches or designs that might be fun?
