:whatever:   :sigh:
I need help. I'm making a ghostbusters comic series to publish to the iPod, but I'm not very good at drawing, so I need a good one. I can't pay you, but you'll get credit! heres how it'll work: post your drawing of slimer and the ghostbusters and I'll pick the one I like the most. Give me your email if you were the one I picked an I'll email you the script, then email the comic pics you made. Oh and I'm 11 so no coming to my house, I'll email you if we get lincened.

You're 11, so I'm going to tell you this as gently as I can fathom. As an artist myself I know how much can (or can't) go into making a project like a comic book. It takes time, dedication, and a lot of revision. You're offering no more than some credit for what is easily the most difficult part of creating a comic book, the art work.

I understand that you are young, and you aspire to do great things. But your time on this planet has been very short so far, so there's little doubt in most people's mind's here that you simply do not understand the amount of work you're just blatently asking people to do.

The chances of you getting a license as an 11 year is even more remote than finding yourself an artist for your project. I'm sorry but I don't think your stuff will get off the ground unless you put foward some more effort.

Why don't you start drawing yourself? With practice I bet you could come up with some decent stuff, or at the very least compose your comic book ideas into fan fiction. We have a fairly healthy community of Ghostbusters fan fiction writers right here on this website. I'm sure some of them would be more than happy to help you out.

A calm head and persistance our very young Ghosthead. I too joined the online community when I was very young, and know how scary it can be here. Just mind your manners, and don't but into things you don't understand yet. And I think you'll be okay.

Aw, that's not the right attitude lad.

Comics is no easy business to break into. If you're truly serious about working in the industry one day, you should be filled with enough passion to create things simply for the sake of doing so, even if just for yourself.

Dan makes an excellent point about just doing it yourself. The experience of getting your hands dirty (literally and figuratively) will teach you far more than you realize.

To add to what's been said, there ARE avenues you can explore to get stuff out there for minimal cost, such as networking groups or by even tapping a fellow classmate. If you get close enough as you get older, you could become a dynamic comic-creating team.

Also, you shouldn't bother with licensed products this early. You won't get legal permission to use them and you couldn't actually publish anything beyond something to give out to your friends. Work on your own stuff, find a way to get them made, and then find a way to get it printed and out there. Once you have some credits, you can begin the process towards being taken seriously by license holders to work on their properties.
