Hey guys, my name is Tom Holmes and I work for the Buffalo Bisons (Triple-A Baseball). We are going to have a Ghostbusters Night at the ballpark next season and I'm looking for help to make this an awesome event. We have a Star Wars Night that is a huge hit with our fans, so I'm hoping we can do something pretty similar, but now with a better movie franchise! I've been a Ghostbusters fan as long as I can remember, so I think we could come up with some really fun activities for the night.

If any of you are interested in being a part of the event (coming to the game in costume, participate in sketches and games, bring an Ecto-1, etc.), send me a message, e-mail me at taholmes@bisons.com, or call me at (716) 846-2211. I'd love to see what ideas you have! Thanks guys!

I can only imagine that you must run into a lot of red tape when trying to come up with ideas, but here's something I was thinking of...

Give every kid that enters a can of silly string with a yellow/black striped label (like the lid of an ecto trap) and tell the kids that it's a "portable proton stream" and that if they see a ghost between innings, shoot it with the silly string. Some people could dress up like ghosts and the kids can get hands on in "busting" the ghosts with the help of the guys in costume.

I'm just not sure about liability and cleanup concerns that may come from the silly string. But hey, it's the thought that counts.

It's all fun and games until someone gets hit in the eye with silly string, then it's time to lawyer up.

At a baseball game we attended they had a couple games.
-Busters chasing ghost costumed interns across field after first inning.
-Kid races team mascot, ghost costumed interns "attack", busters come out and save them so the kid can win the race.
-Ballpark gives kid giant flyswatter to swat a ghost costumed intern. Busters were supposed to help kid, ended up defending ghost from viscious kid (funny as hell)
-Lastly I drove the ecto-4 around the warming track.

Hey guys, this is awesome. GhostbustersNJ, what team did you do this with? I'd like to give them a call and see what they thought of the event.

Any Rochester or Canadian Busters want to get in on this?

Hey guys! The game is on August 12, and we are moving quickly to put the event together. A few of you are already involved, but I'd love to get a huge group. If you want to participate, e-mail me at TAHolmes@bisons.com or call me at 716-846-2211 and we can go over some ideas! Thanks!

I'd love to have anybody in the WNY area that has a Ghostbusters costume and equipment help out. And if there is an Ecto that somebody wants to bring, that would obviously be awesome.

Call me at 846-2211 or e-mail me at TAHolmes@bisons.com if you want to get involved!

Will there be a Buffalo Bisons Ghostbusters Night 2012? If so let's start a new thread page and get this ball rolling. We have plenty of time to plan and expand off of last years round one experience.

I just dont think it caught on and i blame the bisons a bit. Now i will agree the 1st year of anything will be a lil rough. I think they didnt advertise enough. I didnt hear anything on the radio locally or see anything on tv. There was one ad in the paper for it like 4 days before the event and a digital ad on an electronic billboard for a week or so. For the bisons star wars night they advertise MONTHS out on radio, tv, the paper. The players wear custom star wars uniforms. People who dress up do lightsabre battles on the field. Granted this is the 6th year and it has caught on HUGE. I loved the gb night dont get me wrong, but i thought they could have used music from the movies more, than just RPJ. Used different scenes from the movies more often. I guess tom told me he gave the guy in the booth a bunch of different clips to use and both soundtracks to play with. Maybe im complaining to much and should be greatful of what we had and the oppertunity that was givin to us (which i am 100%) but i thought it could have been a lil more than what it was. Maybe thats just the true GB in me talkin....
