It should say inside there, the battery type is usually written molded into the plastic, along with the + and - symbols.

I'm pretty sure it was a C cell battery, and I think it takes two of them. I may be mistaken, but didn't the gun that came with the pack not actually function? I remember getting a second gun, packaged seperately, and that may have been why.

Actually Ive never heard it make a noise. It does light up though if you line up the metal pieces in the hose right. its difficult but can be done. It actually seems as if it was never completed. Now I do remember that they did release a separate gun toy which I have yet to find online sadly enough that did make the noise. Why they did that and not a pke meter we will never know.

Actually I was speaking of another one. I know there was one that came with the trap but the only noise it made was a clicking sound. I distinctly remember this separate gun came in a box with a window in front of it, unlike the boxes for the pack and the trap. The main reason for this was that it had a try me mode. The ads printed on the back basically said it was able to replace the gun that came with the pack. I cant find them anywhere and I dont know why. The only reason I remember this is because it was the only piece of equipment that I dont own from the egb series

Wow! You own all their equipment? I haven't seen an actual EGB pack in person since I was in 5th grade.

I've been meaning to ask this but most people wouldn't know: the gun that came with the pack, what kind of switch or trigger did it had? And is it possible for you to post some pics?

Of course but here is the weird part, there was no trigger just a switch that didnt move. To activate the noises and lights you had to push a button on a handle attached to the pack. Its gonna take a few days for me to get pics up as it is the holidays / all of my stuff is packed away

yeah, the pack seemed off to me. i did like how the trap snapped to it kinda like the rgb one did. but the push button on the pack annoyed me, i even have the "after market gun" to put on it thinking i would control it from the gun. when you put the seperatly sold plasma gun on the pack only the gun lit up, you still had to push the button on the pack to make it do its thing.

I think I found what we were looking for:

Image

The Plasma Blaster, which is just the gun sold separately from the pack.

The pack even advertises on it's box that it is "2 toys in 1," since it includes the Plasma Blaster.

i just mention this in The Garrett thread. I did own the proton pack but when I got it home it made no sound nor did it light up I returned it for another still the same thing I was very disappointed about them making false statements on the box.

The most annoying thing about that pack was the hose connecting the pack to the gun. It was incredibly stiff. You also couldn't attach the gun to the pack.

Yeah mine is still hanging in my closet where it always has been and even though I loved it growing up I remember being so pissed at how many problems this thing had. The stiff tube, funky switches and all the other stuff. I was the perfect age to have GB toys growing up and EGB when I just about to get too old for toys and I totally prefer the original to play with. i'll check my pack though and get back to you with what type of batteries for sure.

I have this pack, with the batteries still in it (strangely enough, they're not dead yet). It does make sounds and lights, but it's not really worth the effort putting the batteries in for. The pack basically talks and says "I am proton nova blast" and makes an shooting explosion sound which sounds nothing like Ghostbusters. I never got batteries in the gun to work, so I have no idea what that did.

And yeah, the gun couldn't attach to the pack. I like the RGB pack better, despite it not having electronics. The simple noise maker for the gun was better than what this one had to offer.
