Due to issues with certain sellers we are now initiating a new policy for selling items on Ghostbusters Fans.

All For Sale and Interest threads must be posted in the For Sale section. Posts in other sections will be moved, posts that don't meet these requirements will be deleted, and the poster will receive a warning.

In order to start a New Topic in the For Sale forum you must meet all three of the following requirements:

-Have a Supporting Membership
-Have more than 50 Posts.
-Be a member for longer than 90 Days.

Also. I would like that all new topics to have the following items in the First Post:

-Name (First and Last)
-City, State and Country.
-Email (Preferred, but not required).
-Price (if only selling one item, otherwise put a price next to each item)
-Detailed Description / History of Item.
-Pictures.

Any users who are found to be falsifying this information will be removed from the site, and their customers will be notified if possible. Users found selling on the site, either in other forums, or PMs who do not meet the Supporting Membership (or Post Count Requirements) will also be dismissed.

Remember. This is for the protection of members of Ghostbusters Fans. A few simple steps here will make things better for everyone in the future.

These requirements are subject to change.

As always Ghostbusters Fans is Buyer Beware.

ok I am not quite understanding the reasoning behind this part?? I do understand the 50 post and 90 days. but why must people be a supporting member to start a for sale thread?

Because it is AJ's site and he can dictate what he deems required to sell anything on his site.

Because in getting a supporting membership your contact info is supplied to AJ which allows him to A: weed out known banned sellers and B: know who the person actually is if there's ever a reason to ban them and the information is needed for A.

but as I see it putting all your info in the first post eliminates that, especially if the seller gets a few calls on the product for sale.

What would prevent you from saying your name was "Jim Smith"?

Frankly, this is a non issue in my eyes.

If you don't like the rules, sell your stuff on EBay, I'm sure you'll rack up much, much, much more than $20 in fees over the course of a few weeks, much less over the course of a year.

Am I allowed to start a interest list even if my 90 days isnt up yet? I wanna be able to be ready in time when my 90 days is up if there is enough big interest.

Basically if AJ lets it slide for you and bends the rules, then he will have to do it for everyone.......

Understandable.... Yet... I'm not asking for rules to be bent for me, its because I didn't see interest requirements anywhere so that's why I ask. This thread is a for sale requirements. IMO an interest list may never sale.

Yeah.. but you are showing an intent to sell. You can't post in the For Sale forum at all without meeting the requirements.

AJ may overide me but no, a trade is still a sale. You're just trading an item for an item instead of an item for money. The same potential problems still apply and are even less protected as there's no money transfer paper trail.

Not that there aren't gaping huge ways around the rules, just don't get caught. :walterpeck:

I was going over the rules, to make sure I got everything covered before I started selling my posters here next month. And stumpled upon the frase highlighted above.
How can I be prevented from selling my posters on other froums? Why should anything sold here, be exclusive to this forum?
I have sold severeal of my Ecto-1 posters at theRPF already. Will this get me dismissed?

I think that statement is referring to forums other than the 'For Sale' one listed on this board.

A lot of runs here are also over on TheRPF and other forums anyway.

Thats the way I read it as well.. selling in the for sale forum is expected, and selling threads elsewhere can be deleted. (But I'm pretty sure they are just relocated to the for sale forum, unless you've pissed the mod team off for some reason.. LOL!)

I just purchased the basic supporting membership package for one year, how long do I have to wait till I can post in the "For Sale" Forum?
