I'm hoping a trap...giga meter isn't that cool IMO, just a bulky less well known version of the PKE.

Some-Guy that's the same story for the PKE meter. It didn't get that much action in the first or second movie.

Coover5 wrote: Some-Guy that's the same story for the PKE meter. It didn't get that much action in the first or second movie. The PKE meter is one of the films iconic props. It's in fact the first real piece of Ghostbusting equipment we see when watching the film, and sets the tone for the 'scientific method' of ghost catching that's central to the films' concept. It made a big impression on audiences, and most people who've even a passing memory of Ghostbusters have an idea of what it is. The giga meter is none of those things.

When I was a kid I actually thought that Ray dropped it in the river of slime when he was hanging like a worm on a hook 100 feet below first avenue. I'd still go for the Giga mainly because it's one of the rarest props like a movie-accurate PKE used to be. Well... When compared to the Trap or Goggles. A sniffer would be cool though...

It's the blueprints for Dana's apartment complex. And they are very very strange.

Doing the Giga Meter as a follow up to the PKE would be lame....I'd give in and buy it, but I don't want another another hand held ghost-scanning device right away, I personally want another type of device.
I think based on relative cost it will be the Ecto Goggles. It requires less electronics (you know they'd spruce them up a bit with some added lights etc, but would still require less than the PKE) and could be another "complete" prop a la the PKE. With a trap, you'd be running the risk of only getting the trap itself for a bit more money (than the PKE), OR for a lot more money the trap + pedal w/full functionality.
I don't think Mattel wants to cheat us, and therefore would not release something that does not have the most basic functions we are looking for (ie, opening trap doors)....which is why I don't think we'd ever see a proton pack, as it would cost way too much for the average consumer.
HOWEVER, we are only thinking movies here....I would gladly buy an RGB or video game version of the PKE etc (but still would prefer something new this round). That would be pretty cool to have (heck, a video game PKE would only take some basic retooling of the current mold)....

It could be a scale twinky to represent the peril that the ghostbusters were in!
