Here after several months of work, my proton pack finished. I made every effort to recreate as much detail as possible. The differences between the GB1 and GB2 pack can create serious headaches!

I would like to thank several members of GBfans, some for their exceptional quality parts and others for their valuable advice, particulary Filandrius, who guided me throughout my building!

So here's the result, feel free to comment if I did forget something, you know that a pack is never completely finished!

Here's the Pack:

Easily one of the most accurate packs ever made. You recreated details that I haven't really ever seen done before!

Did they use both the Square and Hex Clippards on top of the Ion Arm? I'm pretty sure I saw both during different scenes.

Wow!! I think this is absolutely perfectly accurate, or pretty damn close! GB-1 all the way! If you could travel back in time, you'd fool Dan Aykroyd in 1984. He'd think it was a hero pack.

Couple questions:

1) What is the origin of that N-filter? Metal, resin?

2) Whose shell? Or a scratch-build?

3) Whose gun-body is that built from?

4) What if any parts are metal?

Sorry for the questions. Did you do a build thread yet?

Congratulations on that gorgeous pack!!

Thanks for the good comments , i really really appreciate them!

@Pdred1985 : Is that a Madeinsocal6 Ribbon Cable?
Yeah my Ribbon is a Madeinsocal6 Cable, I managed to install it without too much damage, by soaking in hot water and keeping it warm with an heat gun.

@JayStantz :

1) What is the origin of that N-filter? Metal, resin?
My N-Filter is made with 2 straight PVC coupler and a cap. you can see it in my built thread there : viewtopic.php?f=2&t=21843

2) Whose shell? Or a scratch-build?
My Shell was made By Dr. Caron, the The founder of "Montreal Ghostbusters", he built pack for several years but no longer very active on the board, he sell them locally. His Master, His mold

3) Whose gun-body is that built from?
Throwing Chicken kick-ass gun kit! I only customized to make it more realistic a bit, i drilled the screw on the side disk to add some real ones, i drilled the heatsink and put the accurate screw by the inside of the gun box. Added some fake weld with mighty putty and hot glue, added the accurate screw in the gun ear etc etc

4) What if any parts are metal?
Hmmm except for the "hardware" (like the bellow, the ion end cap etc) everythings are from resin or pvc/abs, mdf and stuff like that, no aluminium

If you have any other question dont hesistae al answer with pleasure!

I decided to update my N-Filter.

After removing the strip of white plastic the rest is pretty easy, I liked the effect of white plastic but it was not accurate to ghostbusters 1. :sigh:

Did you n-filter come unattached, Steve, or did you cut if off yourself? I wish I had that kind of room to work on my filter.

Some asked me how my N-Filter is made. I mentioned it in my construction thread (viewtopic.php?f=2&t=21843) but here's a summary.

My N-Filter is made of 2 PVC coupler and a PVC cap, the 3 measures 2.75 "OD. I bought at a hardware store (Canadian Tire), but they must sell them in all good hardware stores in the plumbing section . Firstly I cut one of the couplers to fit perfectly on my cyclotron. I filled the gap with some mighty putty that i sanded.
Image

Second, I cut the second coupler to the correct length and I glued the 3 parts together. Then we mark the locations for the holes and start drilling. This part is the longest, I start with a tiny bit and I pierce through with bit bigger and bigger, until 1 / 2 ".
Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

And yeah my N-Filter is full removable, it fixed to the cyclotron with a 1/4 bolt and another fixed to the shell with another 1/4 bolt
(My cyclotron arnt molded on the shell)
Image

Voila, its more "long" to do than hard

Hand made, removable N-filter FTW. :D Oh and thanks for the pic of the steel wool, I'm sure it'll come in handy. ;)
