So I purchased a trap the instant they came online, and I'm pissed that people have already received theirs and mine seems to be coming via turtle express. I mean WTF? Not happy.

What shipping option did you pick? Some choose UPS 2-day Air.

I also ordered a few minutes after they went on sale and choose UPS ground and it's scheduled to arrive here in New Orleans on Tuesday (from California).

Just depends on where you live from California and what shipping option you picked.

The money return thing is common with them. I didn't get a shipping notice until today, and my estimated delivery isn't until next Thursday. Blows but what are you gonna do?

Here's mine so far.
Date Time Description Location
10/20/2011 01:26 AM Electronic Shipping Info Received Ontario, CA 91761
10/21/2011 12:50 PM Arrived at Shipping Facility Sparks, NV 89441

Keep in mind that Ontario is 80 miles from my house and Sparks is 400 miles from my house.

So the way Digitial River ships items is not exactly like you would expect.

They don't take the items down to a post office, then that post office sorts them and decides where they go, to a distribution center, then to your post office (USPS) or your home (UPS).

They load all the packages onto a truck, and do a pre-sorting. That truck goes to Sparks NV, because they pretty much assume ALL packages will be going East. Packages going to CA should be sorted out prior to going to Sparks, but obviously they don't always do. In this case your package went on a truck to the sorting facility in NV, and then will go back to a sorting facility in CA, to your Post Office, and to your Home. Its not quite as good as if they had dropped it off at the local post office, but by doing it this way saves them... a LOAD of money.

Well,

If this helps, I got no other shipping option than the standard INTERNATIONAL, NOT TRACKABLE, by the way! I'm in Brazil and the shipping email says it may take up o 20 BUSINESS DAYS to deliver... ¬¬

If I choose the other shipping option (UPS - faster and trackable), with the shipping costs I could order an additional trap or two!

I'm sure you'll have your trap many days BEFORE I could see the box in my front door. Give the mail's people some credit. :)

My last tracking update says in transit from sparks, two days ago, after its arrival post the day before.

I'm guessing I won't see another update til its at a hub somewhere in my area.

Are you using the tracking link Matty gave you? If I use the USPS site, it says it's still in Sparks as well. Clicking the Matty tracking link has shown every update, and for me it's taking the I-10 route and is now in Las Cruces NM. As long as I get the damned thing on Thursday I'll be fine.

Both links take me to the newgistics tracking info. If I use the tracking number at usps, I get a more detailed description, and it does say it departed Sparks a few days ago.

Since google maps tells me it takes 38 hours to drive the distance, I'll probably see another update later today, and odds are I'll still have it by mid next week.

Someone in need who had shown kindness to us in the past ended up needing the spare trap we had purchased for future resale, so I'll have to ship that to him once they arrive, and with luck, he might also have his by Halloween.

Ya gotta cover yer pal's backs.

This is what I have. The tracking number is different than the order number and is able to be copied and pasted into the USPS website.

10/20/2011 11:46 AM Arrived at Shipping Facility Sparks, NV 89441
10/20/2011 01:25 AM Electronic Shipping Info Received Ontario, CA 91761

this makes a ton of sense to me. it's how everything else works in the retail and grocer industry.

Date Time Description Location
10/21/2011 01:25 PM Arrived at Shipping Facility Sparks, NV 89441
10/20/2011 01:26 AM Electronic Shipping Info Received Ontario, CA 91761

Look at steve's order;
Image

We both bought the same day. However, I bought 4 traps so mine didn't process for 3 days.
I have no updates since Thursday.
Image

My tracking number is highlighted in blue to show those that can't find their number to cross reference on the USPS site.

I didn't pay extra for quicker shipping because it's only 80 miles from my house. It should take 3 days at most and that's if the Mail carrier was walking on foot.
Instead, they ship to Sparks NV first (which we already covered)
I'm not in a big rush since I don't need them for any events, but It's still asinine to ship that way.

On a side note, I bet we ruined some poor postal worker's day in Sparks with all of these boxes.

You bought 4 traps, the boxes are kind of big and ship 3 a piece so I'm guessing one box has 3 and the other a smaller box for one.

Rly? Another friggin trap thread? As if there wasn't enough bitchin on the other thread about how slow shipping is going, you guys had to go n make a new thread about bitching how slow shipping is.

*sigh*

(Although I can't wait for my 2 traps n 10 figures to come in)

I prefer to call this thread "shipping discussion" because we're not all moaning about things. I find tracking much like being a kid at Christmas: you go to bed with one tracking location..and then the next morning..more activity! Shipping cost for reg. mail was all I could afford, so this is a fun distraction from actually "watching the clock." That being said, here's a little info for this thread:
10/20: Sacramento, Ca/Sparks, NV/Carlin, NV
10/21: Salt Lake City, UT, Rock Springs, WY, Kimball, NE, Aurora, NE
10/22: Edwardsville, KS
I find almost no info at USPS..this is all from my email shipping link. And to Garee: we both live in NC so when it hits the hub I'll PM you..and I'm with you, following the tracking process is FUN.
And that's the ONLY reason I'm on these boards.
