Maybe its a small detail no one noticed before on one or all of the original props?

No. Its just meant to make the aluminum looking parts have a milled finish. You can tell it was intentional, because the surrounding parts are made into the same part, but have a completely different appearance. (Though I haven't taken one apart to know for sure).

There are parts of the trap where there is a naturally milled finish because of the milling done on the mold... but the stuff done on the aluminum looks 100% done on purpose... and the lines look thicker and deeper than they normally would.

I saw the traps are sold out does that mean they will never be available again?

Correct. The trap and PKE Meter are limited edition items that, once they sell out, are not offered for sale again.

The PKE Meter was placed into some Mad Matty Monday boxes, but it was not directly offered for sale.

There are several intentional details besides the milled aluminum. The blocks at the side of the Trap's PKE meter haev a wooden finish sculpted to them as well. I REALLY like what matty did with the trap and I'm extremely happy with it. It looks WAY better and has more features than quite a lot of fan made "props" i've seen around.

Indeed, it does. I've seen my share of quality fan made traps, and while I respect the workmanship it took to build a screen accurate trap, I'd still take a Matty trap over one of those any day. Matty's quality and commitment to screen accuracy may not be good enough for the elitist, but it's plenty good enough for me.

I can't believe I missed out! Is it possible to still buy this and the PKE...? Will the mattel site replenish their SOLD OUT products?
So sad I missed the release!

Not likely. Try the classifieds here or eBay.

They will not replenish the PKE Meter. The Trap was replenished for the Black Friday sale, but its doubtful it will be up again.

The PKE and Trap each go for about $200 on eBay now. Best of luck finding a deal though!
