Well I finally got mine today. Paid 15.50$ in customs fees but that's not a big deal. The trap itself works perfectly. A little bit of grinding, but by the sounds of it that is to be expected. I'm not going to take my chances either on requesting a replacement...doesn't sound like they have any units to replace it with.

I hope me getting mine today means yours is on its way Keymaster!

I think my neighbours have a ghost trap. I bought one first up. Then went back and bought more. The ones I bought a day later have arrived. And the Retro Venkman, that I ordered 2 weeks after that have arrived.... Its either lost in the mail system, or the dumb Post Contractors left it on my door step, and the neighbours borrowed it.

Well...just got this from them:

Thank you for contacting the MattyCollector.com online store.

Although the Ghost Trap is already sold out online, in some cases, we
still have remaining stocks at our warehouse. If one is available, we
will be setting up a reshipment; otherwise a refund on the order.

We are still actively working to resolve your case. Unfortunately we
have not to date reach a resolution. Your case has been escalated and is
being treated with a high priority.

We will continue to keep you updated until a resolution has been
achieved.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Sincerely,
Diana B.

So looks like MAYBE they still have some to send out? If anyone here has gotten an email specifying that all stock is gone and they cannot send out replacements anymore, I would love for them to forward that to me. gcrowe.cf@gmail.com

You'd think the company would have some idea of their remaining stock!

I sent this email to them today, so I'm currently waiting to hear back.

I ordered the matty ghost trap on the day of release which was then shipped the day after and I'm yet to receive the product, after looking on a number of forums related to the item I have found that many other people are in the same boat. It has now passed the 20 day waiting time for the item and its now looking very unlikely I will receive it. I would like to be informed on what will happen next, please don't reply with the standard delivery can take up to 4 weeks as this has now well passed. I'll admit I'm disappointed as I was really looking forward to this item after ordering previous releases from matty and also to hear so many other people are experiencing the same as me.

Regards

Russ

I'm still waiting on mine as well, but I fully believe they will arrive. I haven't yet contacted Matty Collector as I feel its just a matter of time. However I really don't know what the hold up is, especially since the order of 12" figures that I ordered after the trap has been sitting with me for quite some time now. Meh well..

A friend who is in the same city got his yesterday. He ordered his the first day. He was going bonkers because he knew I got mine weeks ago. Thank goodness his worked ok.

You would figure they kept some back for returns. Maybe they have more returns then they thought and are telling people some people that they may get refunds.

I wonder if some have actually gone missing because on some the outside box says Ghostbusters trap.

Mine ARRIVED today. Just now actually, haven't even opened the box. Came in a generic box not marked with ghost trap or anything. I chose standard USPS for Canada shipping. I was hit with a 25.60 duty fee.
Just a heads up. They are still coming, but be prepared for extra charges Canadians.

I think you'll get yours Cannon, it is probably customs that is holding it up. I know its hard, but stick it out and it will be worth it in the end!

Well guess what turned up this morning..... thats right my trap. Two days before December..... Well, better late than never (thanks Luke)

I was actually thinking of ordering another one in last night sales but thought better of it and I'm glad I did now. Although I still have to get home from work to test the thing out.

Will post again later on....

It works, thank god. Couldn't deal with having to wait till nearly December for it not to work and have to send it back.

Do we know of anyone still waiting?

I've very nearly got mine. Got a 'Fee to pay' card through the door on tuesday, had to pay about £25 in customs fees, but it should be getting redelivered tomorrow...hopefully.

Oh well, at least i've had time to collect most of the parts i need to 'fix' it once i get it.

I'm sure this has already been stated but I'm, at work and cant search the thread:

For people in the USA...what delivery company was used to deliver the boxes? USPS, FEDEX, UPS, etc...
Do they require delivery confirmation?

Thanks brothers.

I'm jealous of those who got a working trap. While mine "works", the buzzing/grinding really sucks.. but with what I've read so far in this thread, I think I may just be better off to cut my losses and not even try to exchange it. Shame when customer service reputation outweighs the fact that I got a defective product... We shouldn't have to settle, but yea.. oh well.

After telling Matty 3 separate times that my trap had finally turned up I received this email this morning, although nothing has gone through yet so......?

Dear Russell Turner,

Thank you for contacting the MattyCollector.com online store.

We sincerely apologize, however the Ghost Trap is no longer available.
The product has completely sold out and there is no more reserve stock
available. Since we are unable to send out a replacement, we have
processed a refund on your original order. We apologize for any
inconvenience.

Sincerely,

Just graciously accept the refund as an early christmas present. You've attempted to let them know its already arrived, so if they refund it, its their own fault at this point.

Yes it is.

There was a legal case a few months ago where a person received more money from a bank than they were supposed to. (The person deposited a check for 10,000.00 and the bank credited the account for 100,000.00) The person attempted to let the bank know of the error a few times to no avail. Eventually the person wound up spending the majority of money and when the bank did find out, they contacted the authorities and the said person had fraud charges brought upon them.

If I recall, this happened in England. I would google it.

Not to mention, posting about it on the internets is not to wise.

Since you are so well educated in the law, how many times do you have to attempt to contact them until the money is legally yours to keep?

Or do you have to do it for the rest of your life?

I think there is a MASSIVE difference between spending money that isnt, and was never yours... and accepting a refund of your own money.

No.

it's not your money anymore. if you have what you paid for. it's like going to a grocery store, buying an apple, complaining about it having bruises, waiting in line for another one and complaining about that, then swapping it out for another one. at the end of it all, the manager chases you down in the parking lot to give you your money back.

there are some of you (that delusional few) that will say "im entitled to that refund and the apple!" when you're only really entitled to an apple. he has his apple now.
