I know this topic has probably been beaten into the ground already but I'm just have to ask. I've been doing some searching around here on the message boards but haven't really found and real good information, so I'm sorry if I've overlooked it.

I was just wanting to know who makes the most screen accurate name tag? I want to have my own last name put on it and was looking at ebay seller katarra8 names tags, but someone on here said they weren't very screen accurate.

So if anyone can help me out and point me in the right direction I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!!

short answer? no one.

if you wanted one of the characters names, the patches in the GBFans shop are the best you can find. as for custom tags, jojo is the closest although i wouldnt really call them screen accurate, but they are pretty damn close.

I recently bought a nametag from JoJo, and can vouch that he's probably the best. He'll even customize the style of lettering you want and fit precise measurements if you ask.

JoJo doesnt do GB2 though, I dont think. Or does he?

I've actually been meaning to ask him, but right now I've got too much to invest in before I start putting a GB2 suit together.

What is wrong with Katarra? Our tags are from her, and there is nothing to complain with them.

Her patches are less than what is to be desired.

We don't use her for anything anymore.

I hate, HATE her logo patches. I liked her tags though and my nametags thus far have been Katarra, but then I saw a good side by side comparison and now I agree, not so great.

Its not enough of a difference for me to replace what I already have, but from now on I'm going jojo and for a first purchase I'd definately suggest jojo

Can somebody post some tags from both so I can decide?

katarra uses an inaccurate font on both her GB1 and GB2 patches. thats all you really need to know.

Huh... well I've never seen jojo's GB2 name patches, so I dont really have a way of comparing. I'll stick with what I have.

Thanks for the help guys, I really do appreciate it! I contacted JoJo a few days ago but haven't heard back from him yet. He's probably out of town for Thanksgiving. I really like his work from the pictures you guys have posted, he'll definitely be the one I get a name tag from!

Now here's another question, does anyone know if he puts Velcro backs on these or is that something I would have to do? Or does he just offer the Heat Seal backing?

jojo gives you an iron on backing. i sewed mine on anyway.

You can get either velcro or heat seal, though I believe velcro costs extra (but not by much).

I thought about using velcro, especially for the arm patch, but decided to just sew them on. With what a nomex on eBay costs, I figure I can just buy another suit if I want a GB1 suit.

The Velcro backing is $3 extra.

Now is the " I " suppose to look like that, or is it suppose to be more like Gilpin's?

There is no letter 'I' in any of the GB's names so there is no way to tell what it should look like...

However, in the Ghostbuster video game the Rookie's nametag featured slashes on the top and bottom of the 'I' so it has become canon I suppose.

Since I posted that tag, I have ordered one with the updated font. So, in answer to your question: Yes, it is supposed to look like that =)

jojo has worked with people to make his tags as accurate as possible. dont worry about it, and flipping buy from the guy.

jojo doesnt do GB2 tags, so we'll have to stick to Katarra for those. No big deal, mine turned out really nice.
