In stock and ready to ship!
Hello All, I really like how the MT-500 walkie talkie board has come together. It is much better than I could have done without your help. The sound module is now crammed with 228 sound samples organized into over 100 phrases, and there are some fun interactive capabilities.
This is what is included: Yes, even the ribbon cable is stripped for you! Everything has to be tested and this is the easiest way to make sure the entire ribbon cable assembly is working perfectly before I send one out to you.
This is what it looks like installed. Just remove the battery cover and you will see:
Available 3-SW radios:
And another set: Can't easily tell from the photos: Radio "F": The belt clip has one broken hinge (of two) and the body has a slight bend - maybe run over by ecto1? Radio "G": Has some small characters scratched into the front face - across the middle of the bottom half.
I have run out of the short antennas. The longer ones can be cut down to the desired length and then remove the cap from the cut off portion and put it on your new "stubby" antenna. I have had pretty good success loosening the cap by first heating it with a heat gun, then carfully going aroun the inside edge with a small flat blade screwdriver... A randomly slected longer one will be provided with your radio. Availble if blank: Radio A: Sold! Radio B: Sold! Radio C: Sold! Radio D: Sold! Radio E:
Radio F: Sold! Radio G: Sold! Radio H: Sold! Radio J: Sold! Radio K: On Hold... Radio L:
Display Stand (non-functional Charger):
The Leather Holsters have all been sold.
Pricing:
Walkie Talkie Sound Module Bundle (Assembled and tested board, cable and a 9V battery clip), $49 Motorola Desk Charger (great for displaying the MT-500): $25 Motorola MT-500 Radio (3 rotary Switch) + Installed and tested Sound Module Bundle: $99
Shipping charges:
$5.00 for 1 Sound Module Bundle $7.50 for 2 Sound Module Bundles $10 for as many Sound Module Bundles as you want! $15 for what can fit in an 11" x 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" box - it can hold an MT-500 Radio and a charger and several Sound Module Bundles.
International Shipping - PM me with what you are interested in and I will give you a quote. I like to use First Class International package for the light stuff (Sound Module Bundles), and it usually only adds $3-4. For heavier items, I will have to see what is available!
Notes: "Extra Static" has been the preffered sounds set, so I will only offer the "Regular" sounds by special request and the default will be to ship the modules and Radios with the "Extra Static" version.
There are two sound module versions available: "Regular" and "Extra Static". For the "Extra Static" version, a noise burst is always added at the start of each person's quote in all Radio Chatter Sequences. Movie quotes (other than Radio Chatter) do not have a noise burst added. For the "Regular" version, a single noise burst is only added to the start of each Sequence and only if the timer started the sequence, not if the sequence was started by a press of the talk button
The 2 Rotary Switch version will use the toggle switch to select between radio chatter and all quotes. To select only GB1 movie or GB 2 movie quotes you will need to use the jumpers on the Sound Module Board.
Here is a video of the Main operation:
And here is a video of the Interactive and always-available selections:
Here is a video of the "Extra Static" version:
Here is what the current design has:
1) batteries and sound board fit in the battery compartment of the MT500 2) A multi-color ribbon cable for multiple connections to MT-500 controls *** Power switch *** Talk Switch *** Selection of sounds from one of two sources; the rotary frequency selection switch which is not on all MT-500s and the module's jumper block, so even without the rotary switch on the radio you can still select what sounds will be used. In the MT500 you will have to solder wires to the walkie talkie's switch(es) and speaker for proper operation. 3) A sound module crammed with 228 sound samples organized into over 100 phrases. 4) a potentiometer to adjust the volume 5) a potentiometer to adjust the delay between samples playing 6) a jumper block to select between different modes of operation
Here are the more interactive actions:
If you press the talk button for less than 1 second, it will automatically start the next quote when you release it. If you hold down the talk button for 1-3 seconds you get to step through a set sequence of responses from all 4 Ghostbusters If you hold down the talk button for 3-5 seconds you get the Ghostbusters commercial from GB1 If you hold down the talk button for over 5 seconds the entire Walkie talkie sequence from GB1 will play
Here are the different modes that can be selected by the MT-500's frequency selector or module's jumpers:
1) All samples playback 2) Only samples from GB1 movie (not just radio chatter) 3) Only samples from GB2 movie (not just radio chatter) 4) Only samples from TVG radio chatter and GB1 and GB2 Radio chatter
An additional jumper on the board will select between sequential and random order playback of the selected samples.
Testing the installed board in the MT-500 after you finish wiring in the module:
Interested: All interested Ghostheads have been contacted and all paid orders have been shipped.

Any word on if you got your hands on video game radio chatter?
We are going to try and follow the guidlines posted on this board to see if we can get the chatter from the game, but that is probably a few weeks out. The current game files don't appear to include that yet.
If you know of the sounds already being available somewhere, please add a pointer to them!
(Off subject sort of...) But I think it would be a awesome idea if theres some way you could put a chip in the radio to make it work like a legal walkie talkie dont know if its doable but that would be epic!
