Does anybody know if a record for the most amount of Ghostbusters in one place have ever been set?

If not, why not. Let's try and organise it to tie in with the release of the third movie!!??

Who's interested? If they can get 415 smurfs in one place I'm sure we can do it.

That would imply that we know when the third movie is releasing.

Or IF it is, don't listen to Entertainment Tonight and don't listen to Dan (He's literally been saying its in preproduction since 1991) Listen to Ernie Hudson...as of a couple of months ago, he has heard NOTHING.

In the meantime, there's always PKE SURGE at DragonCon.

Ok so let's say it's not gonna happen, still be good to try wouldn't it?
No rush, plenty of time to plan... So, is it possible? Could it be done?

Eh, there's a slim chance but...what would it be for? Just...being there? I mean, thinking realistically if there's no legitimate reason to do it, then there's no reason to go.

Like Chace said, Dragon*Con is probably your best bet for a larger gathering, and even then it hasn't broken 100 people and I don't think it would any time soon. Too many people live too far away, can't get off from work, and just can't afford to do something like that. It's expensive.

Truthfully I'm fine with not being in the record books. I never understood the point of it.

i dont want to be apart of the group that encourages any idea of a third movie. really, you (or anyone ACTUALLY involved with the two films) cant do anything without some numbnuts thinking it's some implication of a third movie coming out.

im so sick and tired of talk of ghostbusters 3 and people that believe it's happening because dan aykroyd blew his nose when the sun was at it's highest point on the third tuesday of the month three minutes before noon.

also,

chris forgot something:
ALOT of us dont get along. im not going to spend lots of money to be in the same vicinity as a bunch of assholes i dont like. im sure it's a mutual feeling for other members of the community for me and other people. could i stomach the idea? maybe. will i go out of my way to make it happen? probably not. hell i live in florida. im surrounded by assholes, and i wont pay squat for the off chance of them being around.

i guess it goes with out saying.

anyway neat idea, but flash mob's not the best thing for ghostbusters.

As yet no official record stands so we could set a record with just 100 in full costume with pack... We don't need as many as the surfs did.

Last PKE Surge at DragonCon we had 60 Gbs and 6 Ectos, the year before we had 70 and 7. So as far as I know 70 and 7 would be the record if there were one.

The largest gathering of steampunks was achieved by 185 participants at the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con International in San Diego, California, USA, on 24 July 2010. The event was co-ordinated with the help of The League of S.T.E.A.M (Supernatural and Troublesome Ectoplasmic Apparition Management) - a collective of "Steampunk Ghostbusters" based in southern California.

Steampunk is just when Goths discover brown, though, so does it REALLY count?

And spray paint, random gears, and hot glue.

*holds up hands* Come on now boys, the fandom fighting can stay between the Trekies and the Star Wars nerds ok... we don't need fighting between us and other fandoms now do we?

Would it be awesome to get a world record going... yes, yes it would. But hell I'm out here in AZ... that's a LONG flight, let alone a drive... honestly if we do anything, I think it should take place in either New York City... L.A. or smack center of the united sates, as both of those are also long distances for anyone to go. However, if we did New York City, we'd be honoring the home of the original crew... if we do L.A. well, Hollywood and all that. if we pick a center point, atleast everyone can say, 'it's the middle' and we're meeting in the middle... anywhere would be cool honestly.

In the end, I just don't see this happening for Ghostbusters... I would LOVE to see it, but I doubt it'll happen. Mostly just because we're soo damn spread out.

As for assholes, Ghosthead, assholes are in EVERY fandom, I've been cosplaying in Anime for years and you see it there... Star Wars has TONS of assholes so does Star Trek, hell even the Aliens and Predator community's has dickheads and absolute f****g idoits. They're going to be in the fandom, regardless. If you can't deal with that, then I'd venture a guess it's hard to deal with people in general Ghosthead. Fact is they're out there, you just have to grin, bear it... or tell them they're f****g douchebags and move on.

Lol, I just realised the mistake, I was of course referencing Proton Charger... and I saw the ghosthead title and mistook that for his name.

Anyway thank you Aliencatx... it's an unfortenate but true part of any fandom. it doesn't change how much I love this fandom, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to run into my fair share of people I dislike...just like I have in all the fandom's I've mentioned. It's human nature I guess.
