This is the official announcement for my "Hero" aluminum parts run. ( just 1 run) Here is what you will be getting:

ALL PARTS ARE FINISHED AND READY TO GO

Injectors Tubes with the mounting bracket for the side, The Booster Tube and Booster Tube Plug,The HGA (tapped for all fittings), The Vacuum Tube welded on the base, The PPD Cylinder (filled or un-filled,your choice), The Beam Line and Filler Tube (Beam Line tapped to receive the L-fitting), and The N-Filter (with the 9 screen accurate holes) $300 dollars shipped!! $350 shipped w/ Ion arm

Note: All the pre-order slots went empty except a few, so I am upping the price to a more reasonable level, considering now realistically how much it cost me to make these and pay the welder and rent the welding machine, pay the electric bill etc. etc. It cost a lot. It was worth it though!!

Individual parts pricing: (buying ala-carte / alone)
Ion arm .......$60
Booster Tube and Plug........$60
Injector Tubes & Bracket........$85
Beam Line & Filler Tube.......$55
HGA........$50
Vac Tube.......$30
PPD Tube.......$20
N-Filter...........$55

All the parts will be mounted to the proper 1/8 thick bases like the screen used "Hero packs" made in the same fashion. (all our latest information).

The highlighted parts in the picture below of a screen-used pack correspond to the replica parts that will be produced in this run.

Please post interest in this thread only.

I would really like to see a example of what the parts will look like when I get them. I know what they should look like and yes this is a good price but 260 a lot of coin for a blind investment. I also am interested provided I can send my 130 on the 8th

We didn't set it up that way to do a demo batch, but we might be able to. We are renting the welding equipment for 30 days. Rick is looking to get a new machine, but he wants a really high end one, so at this point I have to talk to him again. He might be able to do 1 demo set at work. We will be making these parts at his house.

I can guarantee that we'll show pictures as they're being made and if you aren't satisfied, I will refund your deposit and offer up that set for sale to someone else.

That is the plan to ensure the pricing uniformly. We might be able to do ala-carte stuff as well, maybe in addition to the 25 sets.
I haven't made any attempt at pricing things separately. I'll look into it.

We haven't set up any pricing for individual parts yet. I'm thinking that it's totally possible, providing we can do around 25 of the "complete sets"

I'm taking in all this feedback and I'm going to be talking to Rick today about what we can do.

Thanks.

I pm'd you, but maybe you want to keep the questions in the thread?

1. I don't need the N-filter, can you knock some off the price? (when and if you come up with seperate pricing)
2. I have an alkaline shell and I don't need the base on the vaccum tube. Can you leave it off?

Thanks!

I will be able to custom-taylor an individual order for each person, yes.

Another thing is that some thing I'm aware of is that the angle of the booster tube may be slightly different depending on whose shell you are mounting to.

I have an ALkaline, a Zombie Repellant and another Shell and I can tell you they vary. Stephan's Plans apparently were made before the booster tube correct O.D. was known, so the 2-1/2 OD screen accurate tube might be 1/4 too big for an Alkaline shell and a ZombieRepellant shell, for example, and the angle might be different on the bottom (angled end of the booster tube.) I will be asking and custom making each person's booster tube based on which shell you are using.

All the circles/lids are being professionally cut out on CNC or water Jet type machines for us at a professional fab shop, and all the welding is being done by a professional welder, with the screen used packs and reference pictures as the final look.

I want to get these parts done and a a good price. I might do just one run. I don't want to take over the aluminum business on here, but just my partner is already very excited to get started. We are going to be doing Ion arms as well. I'm thinking maybe just one run. I don't intend to take over the Aluminum parts trade on here, like I said.

I am considering fronting all the startup money and getting the production started myself. I don't see any "risk" involved. This is all going to be professionally done and professionally cut, folded and welded parts. But I do see the need for some demo pieces, so that's in the works. I am meeting with Rick again Thursday and Friday and we'll figure this stuff out.

We are going forward with 25 sets. So anyone who wants in, sign up and reserve a spot.

--Jay.

Alright.

We need to start showing the goods. That much is clear. I just met with Rick and we are deciding the best way to go forward. The intention is to do a "RUN" that is the essence of getting the low price. Making them one at a time to order, there's no way to get this stuff that cheap, that's probably why the usual sellers have a higher cost. (naturally)

I want to do a one-time run here, to get some of these parts and get them for a low price.

That being said, we are figuring out how to get the parts going but also I need the commitment that when I start, there will be enough people to want the sets.

I do not think you can get commitment without showing what the final product is. If people put up money before they see the results can they get a full refund if they do not like the prototype?

That's a really good point, and should be the norm around here.

We are going to be producing the first few batches starting this weekend, so we can have plenty of gorgeous pictures up for all to see.

I want to then start making and shipping the sets as soon as they are finished, we will keep producing in other words, once we start this weekend. Yeay! Very exciting!

Ion arms are still in the works. (I will update that status as soon as I have news.)

Thanks!!

Oops! I meant to answer that Pete. I apologize. Yes absolutely. There will be 100% money refunded to anyone who doesn't like the finished product. (of course).

I am going to be working closely with a professional welder (my partner on this) to make these parts look like the reference pictures. I am very excited about making these parts.

:-D

Update:

All the stock is in. I'm welding tomorrow (Sunday) with Rick, and we will be very excited to show pictures at that point, the target is 5 sets tomorrow, so Parts will be ready to go soon soon soon, very excited! I can't wait.

UPDATE

Sunday afternoon: We worked today and I put a hold on it for now. We had to make some adjustments and we're picking up some new supplies Tuesday or Wednesday.

#1. Priority is the look and accuracy of these parts, so I have to be there very critical of the process, before I let Rick continue welding. Next Saturday we will push forward with the adjustments we made today, the look will be much better and up to our standards.

All in all, I'm very happy with what we have done so far, but the perfectionist in me wants to make these sets absolutely beautiful. I'm scrutinizing the look closely because I want to see the reference pictures when I look at these parts.

Everything is moving steadily along. I'm guiding the ship on the right course.

Thanks!

--Jay.

UPDATE

Friday Feb. 18th 12:40am

I'm excited. We are welding tomorrow again, having made adjustments & I'm excited! Ion arms are being made!!!! V-Hooks are being made!!! Yeay!!

UPDATE - 2-19-2012 Sunday

We welded today and I am pleased with the results so far. We were almost done with our goal of 5 sets when the "nozzle" thing on the welding gun broke (part where the gas goes in, i think) and we had to stop. Rick has tomorrow off because of the Holiday, so he's finishing up then. We'll post finished pictures this week and begin shipping sets.

I'm going to start finishing cleaning these up and then drilling and tapping all the correct holes. I'm picking up 27 more sets of circles from the professional shop. The next sets are only going to get more perfect, I can't wait! I'm also picking up the Ion arms from the pro shop and V-Hooks... We are going to be welding the Ion arms as soon as they're ready.

The injector here is not the best one, but the welder broke as we were working on the second one.

They say show off what you got so.. here's some pics:

I love the N-Filters!!!!

Woo Hoo!!

Those welds are huge, are you making the next batch smaller?

I can. You're talking on the N-Filters? I thought they needed to be smaller I guess I was right. I'll talk to Rick. I need to polish them up. The whiteness from the welding process is making them look bigger than they are.

I just polished up the first one and it looks a lot better. The whiteness from the welding process is making it look bigger than it is, but I'll have to post pics anyway. I got metal finishing pads on my way home today.

The HGA's welds I tried 2 different methods, the smaller weld on that is the better way too.

I'll put up the pictures, so you can see what I mean. I have to finish drilling and tapping all the holes as well.

We are almost done with the first 5 batches. The next 27 sets I'm making, I'll have to take the feedback I get and hone down- the process a bit, so everyone's happy.

See what I mean, polished vs. unpolished? I can make them even smaller still anyway if that's better. I'm hearing mostly that they are good. I'll compare more to the reference pictures. (I was thinking smaller myself)..

EDIT
Talked to Rick. We can make them smaller going forward if that's preferred. Yes.
