Hey Brandan!

Good question. A good quality Acrylic Paint is what you would wish to use. My favorite is Warhammer Citadel Paints and I use Testors Polly Scale clears for my Decal work, but you don't need to buy those exact paints. I'll be making up a list of basic Tools and Paint Colors I'll be using to do the Rookie 2.0 Build.

But for now, some comparison shots of the Origional Rookie vs the Matty Rookie!

Matty's Rookie has an enormous head, but I like the expression. Obviously, your upgrades put the official figure to shame lol

Is Matty's Rookie actually smaller? I always thought it was the generic body. Could be Custom Rook is just so full of awesome it grew, but whos knows.

Hey Guys!

Thanks for the kind words.

Side by side, yes, the rookie I got is slightly smaller for whatever reason.

Speaking of changes, the Cables from the Tank and the Light are not casting up well, so they will become metal wire parts like in the picture below.

Rather than send you a bunch of wire and saying "wrap it yourself" I've ordered a set of Mandrels so I can make the Cables faster. I should get them about Tuesday next week. Sorry about the delay.

haha, good point.

I dunno, my real glasses frames are... oval shaped?

sort of like this...

http://www.fudaneyewear.com/images/Imag ... rown-1.jpg

but the metal goes all the way around the lens. if I had an extra egon I would try his glasses but Matty wont make any more of him (or Winston) sad...

I would use White (super fine grain) Milliput Putty to do that. My friend, Mereel, uses Aves Fixit Sculpt. Both are air dry compounds and would give you great results.

PROGRESS REPORT

I'm continuing to cast up Rookie Kit parts, it comes to 1 set per evening or 5 - 6 sets a week. There have been some changes to the kit as parts did not form up after the 2nd or 3rd castings. The changes are as follows:

The Pack Light and Tank Conduits are now wrapped wire instead of resin cast. Reason 1 was because of Bubble issues with the casts and reason 2 is because they are now flexible and can be bent to meet up with connecting parts. How does this affect the kit? It doesn't, they are made the same way as the original parts.

The Pack Light, all Slime Tube Couplings and Thrower Connectors are now hand cut Styrene. Reason once again, Bubbles in the cast pieces. How does this affect the Kit? It means some more sanding and some extra gluing that you will have to do, otherwise the parts will look the same as that was what they were made of for the origional.

From my standpoint it's taking a bit longer to hand cut and shape these parts, and don't ask about winding the wire Conduits. It was mentioned elsewhere that I should charge more for the extra "hoops" I'm jumping through to make these happen. I've already set the price, so I'm sticking with it for this run of Kits.
