I also just noticed recently that when the roof blows up at the end you can see the marshmallow shoot out at the bottom left. Witnessing Staypuft's death in more detail sort of makes me sad.

In the scene where Peter is doing the ESP test at the beginning. The guy kinda does have ESP.
The first card, the guy says "Square" and it's a star.
Then the girl says "Star: and its a circle.
Then the guy says "Circle" (he must have mentally seen the girls card), but the card is a square. (He must have seen that one coming before.
Then of course he says "A couple of wavy lines" and it is.

I noticed that too but I'm not sure if that was intentional or just a coincidence (i would like to believe they intended that kinda like they did with milt in gb2)

What?!? And then you know what else? So I realized the Venkman guy probably was just doing that because he wanted to sleep with her maybe! Oh man, what a movie.

I have a long list of things I missed, mainly because english is not my native language. Ghostbusters is one of those movies that you have to watch again and again to see and hear all the funny little details, mainly due to it's deadpan humor.
One thing I never noticed is the Crunch bar...

One thing I never noticed is the Crunch bar... I didn't notice the crunch bar until after I found this board and noticed all the crunch bars. I wondered why and then when I watched the movie it caught my eye. But if I understand correctly. Venkman gave Egon lots of candy bars during college when Egon helped him with his studies., Butterfingers, Pay Day's Baby Ruth's.

That's how you get an invention like the proton pack - feed enough sugar to a genius.

Was thumbing through the GB storybook by Anne Digby and noticed a small blurry pic of the terror dog on Louis' bed when the coat is being thrown onto it... but the angle is totally different from the movie, and you can see part of Louis' dresser and an exercise bike in the corner of the room. I just thought it was pretty cool that the apartment was so completely furnished, and in keeping with Louis' dialogue, even though in the final edit, these details aren't visible. Alex

Wow, and here I thought Louis just bought the work out clothes as a ploy to impress Dana. Agreed, nice attention to detail. Perhaps despite camera angles being planned out, DeCuir wasn't 100% on how Reitman was blocking that scene or there could be an ad hoc change so he made sure the bedroom was at least partly furnished. Conversely, I recall a two page spread of the apartment schematic in "Making Ghostbusters," John DeCuir decided not to construct Louis' patio (and Dana's bathroom) because they were deemed unnecessary. Nice to see he didn't deem throwing in an exercise bike unnecessary. I only wonder what we'll still be discovering about this movie in 20 years.

Here's one that's not really one I never noticed as much as never thought about. Peter thought of J. Egar Hoover. He then made everyone else think of J. Egar Hoover. Shouldn't J. Egar Hoover have come to destroy them?

Technically, yes, however, you can see the look on Ray's face. He had already thought of Stay Puft by the time Peter came up with J. Edgar Hoover

I think the point was that they had to actively CHOOSE the form - Peter saying J. Edgar Hoover was, in his mind, just a hypothetical situation, but not an actual choice. Ray, on the other hand, specifically says, "I TRIED to think of the most harmless thing..." meaning that he actively DID choose something which he thought wouldn't be able to hurt them. And thus it happened.

when ray is getting a blow job, during the scene ray falls off the bed you can see egon waving his arms and making facial expressions like he's getting one too. either that or he's waking up from the sound of ray falling.

GRRR ARRG A seperate thread was started about GB2, and your last post was about GB2. I thought it fit better there. Didn't think it was a big deal.

I was just watching Ghostbusters again and I didn't notice this till now. During the dinner scene right before they get to the Sedgewick hotel, Egon is working on a proton ray gun during dinner.

Just a couple of things, the lady that hugs egon when they come out of dana's apartment block at the end of ghostbusters is janine right? . Also in gb2, after peter leaves the set of world of the psychic, he is complaining about the guests, on the back wall there is a logo, is it a ghostbusters logo or a no smoking sign, what do you guys see?

I don't think Peter has ever been lonely. And it does beg the question as to how exactly he did tranquilize her. I don't think he could easily hold down the Zuul possessed Dana while simultaneously locating a vein. Time to test those wine glasses. Pervert.
