Ordered a GB1 ribbon cable from zorro11 just to see what the quality was really like. I'd have to say its about as I expected: meh.

Not to say its not worth the money, and that it's not passable, but its not blowing me away, either.

Heres a photo (click for larger version): Image

It's definitely better than anything I could have made myself. Until a better option arises, this will do on my pack just fine.

Just wanted to post a followup. Ryan emailed me today (Kristin is his wife's PayPal account) saying he saw my review and wanted to know if I had suggestion on how to make his product better.

I want to be clear here; there is nothing really WRONG with the cable by any means, it was just simply exactly what I expected for somebody using the tape method. For $65 it's definitely something I'd buy again if I built another pack.

It would be better if you cross checked the black list before you posted a review.

I did. The only reference to the seller was a query about the products: viewtopic.php?p=392342#p392342

There was no mention that I could find about zorro11 being blacklisted. If I'm mistaken, feel free to link to that post.

In fact, the link from the blacklisted sellers thread goes to this post: viewtopic.php?p=266440#p266440 which appears to be praise for a good product.

He/She is not on the blacklist, unless this is some new alias, but from using a search, it seems to be all legit good feedback.

Just got my ribbon cable in the mail today. Gotta praise the fast shipping! He got it here in 4 days from when I paid! The cable itself is a pretty decent product. It looks good.... just not $70 good imo. Not to say that I wouldn't recommend buying one from him by any means! To date, his is the nicest cable I've seen. The price just seems rather high to me.

I kinda wish I'd waited about 3 hours though (when BlkMesaHero posted his cables for sale on the gbfans board for $50), but I had no way of knowing they were coming up. I bought one of his as well though, so I will have a decent comparison as soon as I receive his.

I've also got to say, I bought a GB1 cable off of ebay about a year ago and zorro11's cable blows that one away! The other one had a harder plastic shell and air bubbles in the clear sections. Not what I was hoping for...
