But are stainless steel ones that way we would want to go? The real ones very clearly have some bronze / brass to them.

Hmmmm, I think either way, people can weather them which ever way they like. I'm happy to go with the majority.

I'll probably end up leaving mine as stainless steel anyway but if they were made as bronze/brass coloured, i'd be putting a layer of silver/metal colour over the top.

They will have the cap on the end just like the bronze ones did, correct? If so, either way would probably work. There are pros and cons to both, just like any big decision when it comes to accuracy in this hobby.

I love the look of the bronze, but I think most people might just go with stainless as it more closely approximates the look most have already on their packs with milled and resin pieces.

I think I personally like the brass since they could be aged/painted more easily to look like the real ones since it's more of a bronze in the worn areas.

I could go either way. As far as accuracy I'd say bronze and as far as appearance, i'd say steel. Since I would rather have accuracy, i'll go with a vote of bronze.

Yeah, I like the appearance of the steel as well.

Is there a difference in price between the materials?

If its not too late I'd like to be added to the wait list. Either finish is fine with me.
Thanks

I'm curious to know how they will be mounted, is there a threaded rod attached to the cap, or will we need to drill a hole and put a bolt through the whole thing?

As was mentioned, the bottom is tapped for GB1 mounting.

Otherwise you can mount it with a bolt through like GB2 style.

I like the stainless, but I'm still in for either.

I prefer the bronze finish myself...I think it would be easier to weather it to look like the worn and dirty feel of the packs, to me the stainless steel is too clean and pretty

I would vote bronze/brass ...after all its easier to fake stainless by painting it ,rather than faking bronze patina
