It's all underway! Prototype is being done now and as soon as it's finished I will approve it and post pics for all to see before it goes into production. I want to make sure everyone is happy with the final product.

Still 4 spots left in run #2 if anyone else is interested.

This may likely be the last time this is offered so if you are thinking of doing a Slime blower in the near future?!?

Payments are due now if you want to be on the list for run #2, only 3 spots left but if it goes over the 30 and it's not too late more can be added, just won't be able to add more once the laser time is booked and run.

As tempting as this is I'm really not comfortable having any money exchange hands until I see the actual product. :whatever:

Agreed, he's definitely reliable when it comes to product quality.

Out of curiosity, any estimate on when these kits might reach buyers' hands? Coming up on a personal deadline and I need to see if an alternative should be built till I get this kit... :-/

Well like I said, I'm coaxing him along in a forward progress direction without seeming pushy or impatient, i find that works best when dealing with machine shops in general. He did a good job of getting the first run of parts done in a relatively quick timeframe. I'll keep on him but if you're on a deadline have a backup in case there's a delay. I'm hoping he will have the prototype done on Tuesday so we can progress that much quicker. I'll keep you all updated as I have info.

I want this to be a high quality kit at the finish up with everyone 100% happy with what they have paid for. Despite some peoples reservations rest assured you will not be disappointed.

Update: I went up to the shop to pick up some other parts and had a look at the slime blower gun progress. The nose cone is being redoneas the material was a bit thick and when it was rolled it wrinkled so he will be doing it in a slightly thinner material to avoid this, once he has that he will be sending me pictures to post for you all. I'm away this week for a much needed break and will be back on July 13th hopefully with a finished prototype.

Keep you posted

Update: Received an email from my supplier today. He's been trying several different thicknesses of material for the nose cone and as some of you know this part is the most difficult to produce, basically cutting holes on a flat sheet then rolling it to the desired shape without it crimping is a difficult task, along with welding said pieces together. I've told him it needs to be accurate and seamless. I'm anxious to get these done and get them out to everyone but we need to be patient.

I'll update more on Monday when I go in to see what he's done.

Update: I went to see my supplier today and saw the nose cone progress.

Like I said he has been trying a number of different techniques to get this nose cone done. His latest attempt was made from stainless which looked good but he did not have the holes cut in it yet and stainless can be difficult to machine, we talked about options and he had said that the original parts were likely spun aluminum and he was looking into that. The holes and how they behave once rolled are the problem and kinking is a major issue. He'll have some more info for me in a few days as he's waiting to hear back from another possible source. Once we get the nose cone right the rest is easy and can be banged out in a few days.
I'm pushing for this too (but not being pushy) as I really want to have mine done for a convention at the end of August

Update:

Back in today to pick up some other parts, got some good news on the slime gun kit.

He's finally got the process for the nosecone down to where it looks and fits right, he had the tube with hinge mocked up and the rear cap flange done. He'll be doing some setup this weekend to get the laser cutter dialed in to do the nosecones holes after they are rolled and welded, this cannot be done pre-rolling as it kinks at the holes, this was the major hold up in the process. So....hopefully he can get this all done and have it by end of next week! Cross your fingers

I have some pics to post as soon as i figure out how to get them off my phone.
