I guess it's not too soon to start planning. Hopefully it won't snow.

So far, I have made the dancing toaster to amaze the kids. We'll need slime to make the toaster "dance". I'll also see about getting some balloons for the kids.

I have the following that I can bring
Stay puft
Tobins spirit guide
Slime
stay puft marshmallow boxes
Im sure more items will pop up between now and then. I think we need to bring some extension cords of our own which I ave plenty of. I may try to make a larger remote control ghost but i dont know how soon that will happen.

The remote controlled ghost was one prop I wish we made more use of at the Air and Scare. I think we should start discussing a booth routine, a short comical skit that we put on for each group as they come up. We kind of developed one last year as we went along. Along with the discussion, it might imply some of the needed props we can work on for the next one.

That routine with the mood slime that you and James used was great. Now you can have the dancing toaster to use to expand the routine. You need a more fluid version of slime and a small music player to play songs for it.

If I have the time, I would love to make the Vinz helmet. I have an IR camera from work to use and hook up to a tv monitor.. So, we can have someone sit on a chair, put the helmet on and shoot the IR camera on them. A video tape player can also be hooked up to the monitor to show "other things" besides a human.

Hmm.... how about marksmanship training for the kids? Give them a "Training Neutrona Wand", aka Nerf gun, and have them try to hit the Ghost. To be honest, that I can see going south if not handled correctly, but hey this is discussing, right? That might be an opportunity for a pack prop maker to make something new.

For the Toaster, we need a new formula for Slime and a Tape or Ipod player that has that song from the movie on it. "Your Love", I think its called. We could also try other music, maybe to help the kids identify easier. I can probably see about the Slime recipe. Maybe the tape or cd player or what not.

Smithsonian might have a problem with Nerf gun projectiles being fired in their museum. I'm sure it's a "safety rule" kind of thing.

Well, Smithsonian's calendar has Saturday, October 27, pegged for Air and Scare 2012.

Hey Laura and I thought of 2 things we could do for this years air and scare.

1. I was thinking we could all bring like 2 bags of candy so we have something for the kids. it doesnt have to be anything fancy just something to give them.

2. Neil If you are going to bring the proton wand for the kids to fire at a ghost what would you think of this idea, Give the kids a chance to be a ghostbuster? My local dollar tree got a whole bunch of chemical gloves in aw well as black and khaki aprons. What is we put the gb logo on a couple aprons and when a kid wants to help bust a ghost we can out fit them with safety gear to prevent ectoplasm contact on their skin and I have some safety goggles we could let them wear to protect their eyes from any ectoplasmic debris.
let me know what ya think we have been working on some great ideas If we want to find another way to try the second idea let me know I would love some feed back :)

I'm up for bringing some candy to hand out to the kids. I completely forgot that I had a couple hundred of GBFans cards to hand out last year. I still have them, and I will continue to stock up on these cards as I order other things from AJ.

Another idea that I've been working on is that I actually got the name of the local Hostess District Manager. I'm going to inquire about free Twinkies, but this may be a dead end since Hostess just declared bankruptcy.

I'm also looking into the "Free Balloon for the Kids." Just trying to see how cheap I can get 10K to 20K balloons made up.

I love the idea of dressing kids up as a GB. But the lighted thrower is in pieces. I took it apart because the end tip of the light string no longer lit up. I can easily put it back together once I find a skinnier strip of red and blue lights. I'd like to make it look more like the special effects that were in the movies.

We have the dancing toaster and Selrik will have fun talking to kids about it. But Selrik will need a more fluid version of slime to make his sketch with the kids work. There was a post on these boards about different types of slime in containers purchased from Wal-Mart. Hmmm..........

I also need a mannequin or someone who would want to dress up as Samhain. I picked up the Pumkin Bobblehead costume at 50% off from Spirit Halloween last year. I have the electronics for the lighted eyes, but have not installed them in the pumpkin head. I also need to find brownish-green hands to replace the black cloth gloves and some chains to finish the costume. A voice changer would be nice too.

I would check with the Museum rep before I handed out any candy just to be sure.

this would be a good idea. we will work on that a little closer to the event since i think asking now is just a bit too early

The GBs have handed out our own candy at Air and Scare before. We've also handed out candy given to us by M&M Mars (event sponsor) before too. I will check with Smithsonian before the event, but they usually request candy with no nuts for allergy reasons.

Well, I got informed that Selrik is moving out of the area. He left me the Ghostbusters Manassas Facebook page to run. So I will see if any other members of the Manassas group are active and want to come to Air and Scare.

Ok I have been trying to get stuff planned. I have a stay puft costume I am making that I will be bringing along with the regular inflatable stay puft. I also found the box of coloring pages I was supposed to bring last year. My sis is going to order some ghost stickers to hand out so we should have some nice goodies for the kids.
Are we ok to give out candy? If so i am going to ask my guys to bring 1-2 bags of cany/lolipops with no peanuts to hand out

We are OK to hand out candy (without nuts). We have done so in the past.

So now we have Stay Puft and Samhain. Will Slimer return this year?

I need to mix up a jar of fluid "good" mood slime to use with the dancing toaster. I figured to find some pink hand soap or something.

Also, this reminds me to get the lights and stuff to light up Samhain's eyes. What do you think for the light color? Green, yellow red or regular white lights?

I'll see what I can do about yellow and red eyes.

So what's up with Slimer? Will the Real Ghostbusters crew return also?

It would be great if the RGBs came back. Just let me know and we'll get the gang on the list again.

So what's up with Slimer? Does Alex's sister want to wear a different costume? The Samhain costume should be ready by Air and Scare. She can wear that if she wants.

OK, Phyllis at Smithsonian just confirmed Air and Scare 2012. See email below:

Hi Neil,

Yes, we are definitely going to have the Air and Scare event again this year.
It will be on the Saturday before Halloween (October 27). I don't have any
details on exact times of the event, but will let you know as soon as I have
confirmed details. We look forward to seeing you and the No VA Ghostbusters
again this year!!

Ok here is a question I have, would they be inclined to have the big Stay Puft there? When I say big I mean 21 foot tall. Of course it can be setup outside on the grounds for Air and Scare.

That'd be awesome! You guys are having too much fun. Hope to return to VA in a few years.
