HI Guys, i´m in the process of making my GI JOE 12" GHOSTBUSTER figure, i´ve got the body , flight suit and black boots so far, i´m very happy with it... Here he is...

Image

But i need to replace his head and hands since i bought hands with gloves, and another head... which i won´t tell you untill it arrives in the mail....

Do any of you know how to take out the hands and head? I see there is something in the shape of a buttom in the wrist and neck... look

Hand
[img][/img]

Neck

[/img]

So If any of you have any idea of how to do this, please let me know, i don´t want to break his joints by pulling his head and arms too hard.

Here is another pic of him between slimmer and Ray. I got the head, web belt, gloves, nametag , no ghost simbol and alice frame coming in the mail. It will look so cool.

You can find all the parts you will need on ebay. Dragon makes good looking quality products, and some of the CY Girl equipment is spot on. As for the alice frame -Dragon has the best kit available:
http://cgi.ebay.ca/1-6-Action-Figure-Dr ... dZViewItem

The 1:6th scale khaki/tan colored flight suits are a little harder to come by, but they are out there. As well as pistol belts, boots, and the key ring accessories for the belts.

Good luck with your project my friend.
I look forward to seeing it finished, and I'll try to help any way that I can.

**edit**
Here are some great belt accessories for cheap:
http://cgi.ebay.com/2-POLICE-TACTICAL-U ... dZViewItem

Here are 2 pretty good pistol belts:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Soldier-Story-1-6-M ... dZViewItem
http://cgi.ebay.com/bi31-1-6-F86-Sabre- ... dZViewItem

I'll keep an eye out for more

Awesome! I once changed a 12" Han Solo into Indiana Jones, I didn't even think about Ghostbusters. It would make sense they'd have the military gear since G.I.Joe is a military action figure/doll.

ive been making custom 1/6 figures for a few years now, im working on my own ghostbusters too which ill post some pictures soon. Im not saying to totally start over but i would highly suggest you work with bodies from Dragon models, The hands pop off for and easy way to take on and off clothing or switch hands, the heads come off so they can be replaced with customs, and if your willing to drop a few bucks you can get hands that have rubber fingers that bend individually
try this site http://www.monkeydepot.com/index.asp?Pa ... tegory=276
and http://www.store-rooms.com/Member/Login ... count.aspx

If you need any help of have questions just PM me and ill be glad to help!

Also some other tips i used on mine are to buy the green colored flight suits from BBI
or even this
http://cgi.ebay.com/BBI-1-6-Flight-Suit ... 638Q2em122

if you can find the green ones that i got use RIT dye and soak them in bleach for 4 days, it turns the the EXACT color of the film
And if you want a good movie colored belt, buy a rubber one from monkey depot, a WWII pistol belt, and simply paint it light gray

Thanks for your help Astro.. i bought from monkey depot a rubber belt exact as in the movies, some hands with rubber looking globes, a radio with hostler, key hangers, the alice frame , one pouch for the circuit board, a grey shirt that i´ll be dying black, and some very good looking knee pads from a seller on ebay .

Unfortunately, i´ll hae to work with this body since it´s all i´ve got .. The hands are strongly held in place. They are ery hard to come off, but i´ll have to do it any ways.

I found one yellow tube that works wonderfully as the piss hose, and for the connector i had to scratch build one with epoxy clay. Looks good.

I´m going to dye the flight suit since i don´t like the white cloth that is arround the zipper.

Thanks for the help Astro. And post your progress also.

Two ways to remove the head/hands-

Heat it with a blow dryer until it's soft and then work it off.

Or, put it in a cup of hot water. It'll soften up and come right off.

Be careful w/ the hands. Heat up the forearm, you may need pliers to remove it. The holes will be bigger than the wrist pegs of the gloved hands you bought though bro. You may be able to make them work for you by wrapping the wrist pegs with LOTS of teflon tape.

I've got a huge collection of 1/6th figures from over the years and years and years.

Happy to help with anything!

So, i followed Holliz and NIck ´s instructions and remued the head from the dragon body, which i bought thanks to Astro´s advice. I´m going to make my personal hero, Dr Peter Venkman, so i bought from ebay Murray´s head, it arrived last week, now is all painted, thanks also for Astro´s tips. I think it looks great.
Image
What i like is that he´s got that -i don´t beliee in ghosts-expression from the first movie.
Image
Since these heads come with no hole, i had to drill one, and it appears it´s not big enough to insert on the body´s neck, i don´t want to make the hole bigger since it´s all painted now, and because i´m afraid i could brake the head´´s neck, which would be a terrible shame. So i cut one portion of the neck and still doesn´t go all the way down.
Image
Do you guys thinck that by heathing the body´s nake, would make the neck soft so i can press down the head so it fits right on the line???

I used a dremel tool to carve away most of the inside of the neck until there was only a small bit of resin left. Just don't force it and it shouldn't break it. Just keep test fitting it until its flush with the neck. Nice work man!

Ok friends, Here he is, the good doctor, Peter Venkman.
Image
Tell me what you guys think, any suggestions or critiscim is welcomed. Here he is without gloves.
Image

I´m really happy with the result, One thing i´m going to improve are his elbowpaths, they are too bulky now. I´ll try to make more accurate ones. But for the moment they work just fine. Still missing are the key rings, the trap hostler, and the protonpack, which i bought from Nickatron, hope he sends it quick.
Image
As soon as the pack arrives i´ll post pics whit it .

yeah, unintentionally he looked like the uniform in the second movie.

One thing i´m going to fix are the elbow paths, they´re too bulky.,´i bought them from ebay they are kneepaths.
Image
This is the circuidboard which i made using a chip from my dancing slimmer which my son broke apart, and the pouch of 1: hand cuffs. The yellow hose connector i made with epoxy, and one trap pedal hose i had from irricanian.

I´ll try to custom made another flight suit, and take some more pics later.

Thanks

Hey Bradboss, never really payed attention to your comment. I´m going to do that tonight. Nice idea. It always buthered me the white zipper, and stitching. I thought it would dissapear in the dying proccess. But it didn´t.

Thanks for you imput, i´ll let you know how it turned out.

I'm currently making a couple of 12" busters. I have found that this flight suit is the closest you can find to the fit, cut, color, and overall style of the original uniform.

http://www.monkeydepot.com/index.asp?Pa ... rodID=3201

The color on the photo is a little missleading as it looks green but the actual suit is a dark khaki.

I have ordered the last one off of that site so they don't have them in stock anymore sorry.

But it's made by a company called Dragon, it comes on a figure but you can find it by itself.

It's a WW2 A4 US flight suit.

http://www.whatpriceglory.com/pic/a4.jpg

Hope this helps for suit solutions this is what I am using.
