I checked the website and the prices went up dont know anything about the promotional code. Its probably because of our wonderful economy.

So you said the gun is 20 inch PVC, should the black end cap fit over that with the aluminum flashing on it? Or did it need some of the 20 inch flashing cut off the end for it to be able to fit? :D That's kinda how it looked in a few pics. I'm sure I'll find out tomorrow when getting stuff done. Thanks again. It's fun to see more people try the slime blower!

Well, now that we have a somewhat comprehensive thread with progress pictures and an author who is actively giving advice, it makes the slime blower more attractive.

Agreed. I think this is one of my fav topics on gbfans in awhile. Definetly informative. Scott, sorry to bug you with so many questions. Answer when you get some time :D ;)

http://s298.photobucket.com/albums/mm24 ... G_2428.jpg

In that picture, do you remember what the other part was? I recognize the 3/4 Water Tight Connector Hubs but the other part, you said there were two parts. I think NR1 might know but I think his was a little different as well! :D

The top part on the first two and on the other 3 on the bottom that are still silver.

You know i actually forgot because i threw the stupid package out. I have to go to home depot this weekend I will make a note and find out for you. All the pieces are relatively close to each other along the shelf. I actually just had to hunt it down. As for the gun size, the flashing is 20 inches, the cone fit over the flashing and the cap we cut down to 1 inch and it does not fit over the flashing, so the pvc would be approximately 21 inches long. That really bugs me that i dont have the name of the other part but i will get back to you if you dont find out sooner

If you read the topic, I promise you, just about everything he's used is mentioned. As well as where to get it. :whatever: This is a highly detailed and descriptive/pic intensive build discussion.

If it were me personally, I'd do some researching/compiling info within the thread with the information given and then reserve bombarding the man with questions that are more specific rather than broad and general. Like someone said in the other topic you asked, not to be rude or anything, just a thought.

Thanks a lot man! Much appreciated! I hope to really bust my ass and get it done for Halloween. Seems far away but time has a way of catching up with me. Will probably end up alternating with the proton pack for different things. We'll see!

I'm sure I'll think of some more questions to annoy you with. ;)

EDIT: Okay think I thought of one. How did you end up connecting the guns black hoses to the connectors? Since I guess it didn't look like it'd "fit" too perfectly. Some good glue? :walterpeck: :D

Yeah that was a pain, I took the blue or purple plastic piece out of the connector, 3/4 inch pvc fits in it perfectly and then i gorilla glued the hose on, not real good, but it was last minute, havent figured out the best way to do it yet. The original stuff is actually is like car heater hose, smaller version of dryer vent hose, has a wire coil in it and wrapped. My next one will have that. You can get it at auto part stores, little more pricey than the hose i used.

Maybe some potential bad news for Slime Blower builders? Ordered the lights from doitbest.com and received them and unfortunately didn't receive what I wanted. I think it was a Bell something or other. Looks like the Dawn Patrol headlight, more of just the flat look. Gonna send em back and figure something out I guess I mean they're not bad lights but when expecting the other correct ones, it was a letdown. Those things look like something that hasn't been made for awhile, giving it that "80s" look I guess. It's like "No I want the out of date looking headlight" :D

We'll see, I mean I guess they probably stopped making those awhile! Any other ideas? I'll probably end up getting an alternate light then! :whatever:

They stopped making the originals a long time ago. That is the closest thing to the original. I didnt like the lenses all that much but its the closest I came. Unless you can find something better.

When did you order yours Scott? I guess the picture on the website doitbest.com is out of date or they just send headlights they have now. The ones you received and what I ordered actually did look close to the movie ones other than the lenses like you said :D The black box with the round lamp on front, in the yellow I believe package in your pics. The product number on the site was the same as the one on the invoice. :whatever:

That's what I expected

About what I got but black with red button

Scott any advice on how the left discharge was to mount? As far as if it was tricky. I have a feeling with all the parts laid out it will make more sense/fit together. :walterpeck:

Ok for the left discharge I measured out a piece of 1/8 balsa wood and mounted the intake to that then I actually mounted the plate straight to the alice frame with bolts. I had to attach the tubes and mother board to get a good fit for it. It worked out good for me though. I got the wood from a hobby shop it was a 1ft by 6inch plate that I cut down to fit.

thanks for that info! That random bit of black leather or whatever on the discharge still makes me scratch my head to this day :whatever: As far as it just seems really weird and "out of place" looking at it in the movie, it's like "okaaay". I wonder what happened there. Credit to ice11red from proptopia on the image if it shows up.

I guess you may have since changed your hazard tape, was the kind we see the 2 inch kind they might have at Lowes and whatnot?

Cool. Thanks! I imagine the other side probably works in a similar way? As far as needing something for the intake box on the other side too?

the gold box under the intake box i had mounted to the 1/8 inch plate that the intake box is mounted to the right gold box i had to rig something up to mount it, i used some of the same metal for the mother board and a 1 inch block of mdf and mounted it to the mother board, you may find a better way to do it.

I'm gettin there! :D Does your discharge sit right next to the Alice frame on the left side where the Alice frame strap hole is? I mean, I don't forsee ever needing to really take the strap out or if it's an enough of a space between it where if you ever have to it can just be loosened and undone with little trouble.

Thanks for all the help. I'm up to 16.6 lbs without the intake boxes and discharge. :D I don' t think the end result is gonna be too unbearable. I don't think what I have for my power cell will be too bad. Found something that will probably work nicely!

EDIT: Well it looks like it's probably enough room since you could just loosen the strap from the inside of the frame and pull it through.

Ive got the left discharge attached to the back of the 1/8th plate that the intake box is attached to and that is attached directly to the frame. If i understand the question correctly. The gray box on the left almost touches the strap down at the bottom. I would have to take the 1/8 plate off to take the strap off.

Excellent job! Best home made Slime Blower I have ever seen! I would like to ask, what did you use for the handle on the gun?
