CoolToyReview.com once again brings us the first images from Toy Fair 2010 in New York City. Diamond Select Toys (available in the Ghostbusters Fans Shop) is showing off their line up of Ghostbusters figures and collectibles.
Among the new figures include Wave 4 of Ghostbusters Minimates which features Ray Stantz, Egon Spengler, and Peter Venkman in their civilian clothes and casual Dana Barrett as seen during the beginning of Ghostbusters. As well as the Ghostbusting trio as they appeared in their first commercial. Also included in the display is a rather disgusting looking new Slimer night light (It appears to light up).
The coolest Ghostbusters announcement has got to be this Ghostbusters Logo Neon Sign! This will no doubt be a must have for any Ghostbusters Fan. You will be able to buy all these items and more directly from the Ghostbusters Fans Shop!

Alternate torsos PLUS equipment? SOLD! Once again Diamond Select impresses me where Mattel leaves me feeling blah. I LOVE the Venkman head of that 4-pack, I think it's their best one to date, and really captures the essence of the character. Ray's likeness also looks better than the previous ones to me. Civilian Dana was also a must. They're really covering a lot of their bases with these. Here's hoping they get around to a Janosz, Slime Blower Winston, Slime Blower Ray, and Mayor Lenny. Accountant Louis wouldn't be bad either, though he's an easy kitbash if they never get around to him.

Wow... that's gonna be a good boxset if it essentially includes different torsos that you can swap out... that's like getting 7 new figures in a boxset of 4!

If you go further back in that gallery, you see the new glow slimer bank, and what looks like a ghostbusters no ghost neon sign that looks pretty spiffy!

Not what I would have chosen for the next set, but I'll take it. Interesting to me how Lab Coat Ray was just announced by Matty too. (Too bad Matty's not doing it like this - as a set)

I did a quick search for "neon sign" on ebay which yielded results anywhere from $0.01 to hundreds of thousands of dollars (really rare stuff) so I guess it depends on the buyer. and the pics of the gb sign make it look kind of small, and its on a base, which kind of turns me off, I'd prefer something that mounts on a wall.

$125 is an excellent price for a sign that size, two colours - the one colour Batman of similar size is about $80-90. The two colour Superman, at 20", is $395... so, just to give you some perspective. $125 is a no-duh-must-have price. It's an really good price point.

Wow... $125? That's steep in my opinion.
I've seen similar sized neon signs in Spencer's gifts and places like that that were only around $50-60. Not knocking it, just saying that's a surprising price.
I think I'll probably be passing on this too. Can't see it getting enough use (unless I can find a way to mount it behind my bar), and that's pretty damn expensive. Maybe if I find it on sale sometime.

Oh, I agree... just saying, the GB logo seems like its going to be expensive comparatively. I mean, that Live Nudes sign is 2 color as well, and seems to have a very similar base, implying that these are made of similar materials or possibly by the same company.
Going from $30 to $125 is quite a leap.

No, it's not - that's why I pointed out the cost of the Batman/Superman signs. Two, high value, licensed signs - both of them show that the Ghostbusters sign is not unreasonably priced.
"I can't afford $125" is perfectly valid - but you can't pin that on the marketplace as somehow unfair. The Live Nudes isn't a good comparison at all.

Cheap repaints in a bad economy outweigh greater posibilities,,,sigh...
I'm digging the glowing Slimer Bank and hopefully the DST blue glow Stay Puft Bank - from diamondselecttoys.com website I saw awhile back - it's a prototype though
