R2DEVO's SolidWorks Proton Pack

R2DEVO

Ah...spring break 2008! Let\\\'s see....lots of boozing and anonymous sex in Cancun, or stay home and model a proton pack? If you\\\'re at a site like this, the answer is probably pretty clear.

I\\\'ve been itching for a CAD project lately and this seemed perfect. I\\\'m using Stefan\\\'s (Bugstomper) plans. It\\\'s pretty accurate for the most part. The bumper was easily the biggest bitch of the whole thing, it\\\'s also my most inaccurate part because of my lack of skill. All parts modeled in SolidWorks 2008 and rendered with PhotoWorks. I am slowly adding little things like hose barbs and cables/hoses. Also, not all the textures match, I know. Decals from HProps.com. Full sized photos can be found at http://slightmiscalculation.com/devin/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=41

Constructive criticism always accepted, and thanks to everyone for the kind comments, I really appreciate it. Big thanks to RamJet for help with some nice details.

Note: there are a few duplicates in here and I can\\\'t delete them for some reason.

Here\\\'s a link to the 2nd page since it\\\'s broken: http://www.gbfans.com/fans/art/equipment/12393/21/

nice dude, I'm glad to see that other people are putting CAD programs to work like this. I used CATIA to make my proton pack, but not nearly to this level of detail, I just got the basic strucutre down, no textures or nothin.

The progression of this has been cool to watch. It's nice to see it slowly get more accurate and better. Great work.

That is damn nice work. The model itself is great, and the lighting in some of those renders is very, very nice.

Very impressive, sir.
