September 17th, 2009, 4:07 amfinally looks like ive done something!
ive sprayed everything, and started fixing stuff to the motherboard. i made the sync gen from plywood, that was a whole barrel of laughs and its primered.
ive made an n-filter from a low salt can and fitted that to the cyclotron. the red plastic inserts are from a darth vader lightsaber box lol so its got a touch of the dark side.
the crank gen is wood. it was too heavy so i got a chisel and just hollowed it out as much as i could. the hga is from multimedia and i just screwed it to the crank box.
the corner plate behind it is plywood too.
the ion knob is circular pieces of hardboard glued together with 2 small screws through it and a big hole for the connecting bolt that fits it to the bumper.

ive gone for a mix of bought resin pieces and home made parts where i could, this should speed it up a bit and be a lot cheaper lol. should also means im not missing out on accuracy and detail for the sake of cost and speed.
