July 15th, 2009, 12:25 pmWaiting for my shell
Boy, yesterday I got this note in my mailbox (a physical one, not an email box). They tried to deliver a package, but I wasn't home. Now I'm waiting for it. It should be here within the hour. Since I've bought quite some stuff in the last few weeks, it could be anything, but I've got this feeling it's the proton pack shell I bought through Ebay. I'm not very handy so I'm building a proton pack easy style. A shell, parts pre-made by multimedia mayhem. Love their stuff! Als bought hose barbs and Clippard labels through this site (thanks AJ!!). I've had the barbs and labels and a shock mount for more than a week now. They've been waiting on my diner table. Waiting to be mounted on the shell. Maybe this week. I'll have to do some painting first.
So the dream I had since I was 14 will finaly become reality (yes, some people have simple dreams, but even simple dreams are not easily realised). Thanks in large part to this site. There is so much detailed info about equimpent now, it's amazing!
It also raises the question 'how many ghostbusters are out there?' The shop is often out of stock. How many proton packs have been build? This movie is more popular than I every imagined.

Yeah. I know what you mean. I dreamed of building real Ghostbusters equipment as a kid. My friend and I were obsessed with Ghostbusters. Now we're going together this Haloween, and we're going to have real proton packs! Then who knows for next year.. Traps, PKE meters, sniffers, an ECTO-1...
