February 4th, 2010, 12:54 amUniform Difficulties Continued.
Went to a surplus shop downtown today, and I was treated rudely. Well. I know better than to visit that store any further. No luck in finding the right jumpsuits so far. Though I've found that EMT/Paramedic pants and uniforms are in abundance.

This gives me an idea for a custom uniform, at least.

I may just base my franchise uniform off of a pre-exsisting emergency services uniform, for sake of readily avaliable options.

Something to think about....

January 30th, 2010, 8:29 amUniform Difficulties.
Scoured all the army surplus shops in Toronto that I could, not one flight suit that meets my needs. No ALICE frames, either.

....although the Luffwaffe cap was pretty cool to see, if unrelated to why I was there.

Uniform progress is slow. Waiting on money to filter down from my bank account into my Paypal, and from there to get my first badges and patches. Hopefully I will have the 'suit itself before too long and can begin work on other areas.

January 28th, 2010, 11:41 amA pox on thee!!(Noise rant)
I understand the need for maintenance and repair on a building and its infrastructure. Waterproofing concrete is no easy task. There's the employment of serious tools and equipment for an undertaking like that. This isn't what bothers me.

What gets my knickers in a twist, is when the bloody work starts at 7am(FLAGRANT Violation of the local sound/noise pollution law) in the bloody morning! Really! There are 3 other people in my home whom I reside with, and this nonsense is starting to take a tool. Moods are sour, nerves thin, tension in the air because people cannot get the sleep they need due to funny work schedules(Night shift is a pain).

The property management letter said it would only go on, the heavy drilling, jackhammering, cutting, ect, for *3* months. It's now going on 5.

I'd not be so uppity save for the fact that my townhouse, which sits RIGHT beside, and sort of on top of the apartment towers garage and it sounds like they're doing the work in my laundry room.

[/end of pissy rant]
