November 20th, 2010, 6:40 pmPKE meter from Iona shoe polisher
HeLLO

WeLL with about 2 weeks until MattyCoLLector.com unleashes the PKE meter Master Replica awesome orgasmic $60 PKE meters, I don't know when I'LL get around to making this thing into a PKE...

I want to at least get the outside modified and make a master shell and use that to mold some PKE kits, with resin plastic wings....

Somebody like Proptronix is going to have to invent the guts at a more affordable price than what I've seen out there, because I've seen, like $330 bucks for a lights and motors kit for this, without sound, that can't compete with the MattyCoLLector PKE obviously...And they're never in stock either..

We shaLL see, I'd hate to waste this Iona, I got for $5 at a yard sale last summer, I was so excited I almost shit myself, no reaLLy.

TTYL...

August 18th, 2009, 10:46 pmBuilding my 1st Pack
I have to say.. It's an evolving process, I originally intended for my 1st pack to be okay, like "85%" accurate, and if I knew it existed at the time, I probably would have gotten one of Studio Creation's shells. But as the process evolved, It very quickly became more important to me to be 100% accurate, or at least shoot for it, and to have lights, and the option to add sound later.

How is it for everyone else? How was it for everyone their 1st pack builds? I can't imagine the bravery it took for the 1st ones to go ahead and try for 100% accuracy. Sure, I actually can imagine a whole lot of people making up a "homemade" proton pack in their garage on the weekend, for a fun project, but I have lots of respect to the actual "prop makers", the guys who mapped out the road to movie- accurate prop replicas.

I am attempting a scratch-build, well 2 scratch builds, to be exact. Reasons being, that I can't afford a fiberglass shell and aluminum motherboard, let alone 2 right now, with lights and I want 2 of them for Halloween so I can go out with Me, My friend Mark, and my brother, Seth. I imagine I might actually have to sell 1 of the packs before Halloween, even because money is tight right now. I planned on selling them, anyway, I guess, so I can have the one or ones with the fiberglass shell and aluminum motherboard, like in the movies.

Update(way Late)
My 1st pack became a fiberglass shell and aluminum Motherboard after all, I got one of my friend's old pack shells he abandoned for a better one he and his buddy were making. I wish I was as good as they are at making resin and fiberglass molded shells, although I never tried, so maybe I am. I am going to try to mold some resin soon, as I have lots of Real Clippards lying around, I could make some resin Clippards for those looking to save money and or weight, and I have an Iona shoe polisher, I'd love to make a PKE kit, for a reasonable cost.

I have had a lot of personal shit going on, but I will try to update my props on here very shortly, so wish me luck.

God, I love this site.
