| | This is my 1979 Cadillac Miller Meteor Fleetwood hearse. I bought her from an old hermit who collected and drove all sorts of strange cars, most of them being ratrods or things he fused together from different vehicles and sheet metal. I'm planning on it being in a driveable state by October first 2011 so that I can play with it the entire season. My body work is amateur, and I will eventually go back and fix alot of mistakes. I've never done anything like this before, and as usual the idea of it sounds great, but noone will actually come help that ever says they will. So I did it all by myself with a bit of help from my father in law on the mechanical side. I chose to leave it a hearse and go with a "custom" ecto, vs. trying to copy the original bit for bit so some things will be different, or missing. I will be running clear/amber lights because blue is illegal here and I want to be able to run them whenever I want. I may get blue domes in the future for shows/parades. The roof is covered in a rubbery like material normally used on the tops of RV's. It didn't turn out like I was told it would, and will eventually be coming out and just be painted like the rest of the car. I'm focusing on the exterior only for now, and will get to the interior after Halloween when I am not in such a rush. I'm doing a "budget" paint job, because I know that I will be going back and sanding alot of this off after Halloween.. However, personally I think it looks pretty damn good compared to how the car looked when I got it. Several people have seen it and stated "damn, it looks like a different car". It may not be perfect, but its mine. |
