Dr. K Peterson's Ghost Trap
|
| | Since I didn't build my pack, I felt a need to prove to myself that I *could* build a decent looking prop, and this totally-non-functional-just-for-looks Trap is the result. It won't stand up to some of the best ones I've seen here, but I'm very happy with how it came out. I built it from scrach with material from Home Depot, Michaels, and some other places...with all hand tools. The belt holster is made from styrene and cardboard with a strip of wood (with a nail that goes into the back of the trap) for a securing backbone and a kid's belt for the strap. Going with my thing of putting my signature on my props: The grey knob on the right hand side is a a safety lid for a 13-dram bottle from the pharmacy where I work, and the pedal 'spring' is the lid to a container of Airborne (think Zicam meets alka-seltzer)
Oh yeah...I found some nice resistors for the pedal at Radio Shack. But at up to $10 a pop, uh uh! And I also found paper clip holders, but they were WAY too big for this. SO I improvised with a pencil sharpener and a cannabalized floppy disk! |
