Ecto-san's PKE Meter

This is a re-imagining of the Real Ghostbusters PKE Meter which came with the 1986 toy Proton Pack. The screen is the LCD screen and screen cover from a first-generation Game Boy. I thought the "Battery" indicator made sense, and the liquid crystal in the screen nicely simulates an Infa-red or FLIR-type effect. Rubber plumbing O-rings were used to make the knobs look seperate from the body. I really love how the liquid crystal in the GameBoy display simulates the look of some mysterious "readout". The pics with the turnable knob painted black are the final version, even though I am considering making some sort of wing assembly.

Thanks for your kind words, I really appreciate it. I thought it was a nice blend of the cartoon and movie look.

No, I wouldn't be mad if you used a LCD screen :-) Heck, I'm not sure I'm the first person to do it.

Careful when cutting the screen to size, though, 'cause those little liquid crystal shavings will go everywhere. They're like tiny shards of glass if they get in your carpet.
